Orange Poll
« on: January 01, 2009, 09:32:25 PM »
This has been an ongoing conversation at our house over the holidays.  Given the ridiculous amount of taste-testing on the part of certain family members, if there's anything to that vitamin C thing they should be healthy for the next six months!  ;)

You probably don't want to hear this, but I actually don't like the orange family very much. I don't mean that I hate them, but they don't really do much for me. I think the trees are beautiful though, especially in blossom.

To be fair, I've never actually eaten a tangerine, a clementine and a satsuma in quick succession.

I chose orange, but it really depends on a variety of factors. When I'm feeling Christmassy, I like mandarins (I think satsumas are a kind of mandarin??) or tangerines. When I have a cold or am very thirsty, I want a big juicy orange.

Satsumas.  Oranges are too messy.

Satsumas for me as well.  Mainly for the nostalgia factor.  I remember getting full boxes as gifts when we were growing up in Japan around this time of the year.
Plus I must be the only person who when picking oranges manages to get the ones that have the dry ends.  (I hate that.)

I only eat big juicy oranges.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  the satsumas & clementine's I think are a waste of time by the time you have it peeled there is hardly anything there to eat but thats just my opinion.  ;)  :)

But they are so much easier to peel though! And mess-free. Sainsburys has an offer on clementines running now and I've been practically stuffing myself.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

We usually buy ASDA's XL oranges when they have them I hardly have any trouble peeling them they sometimes are a bit messy but not that bad in my opinon.  ;)  :)

honestly, I can't tell the difference between clementines/satsumas/tangerines!  All yummy to me, along with oranges.

Clementines taste different to me. I don't know what it is, but I'm not really fond of them.

So orangs and satsumas are tied?  And tangerines got no votes at all?  Funny, my family has been leaning towards clementines the last few days, because like Mort said Sainsburys had an offer on them.

I love them all...I don't discriminate against any citrus   :P

This is certainly my son's take on it!

Thanks for voting everybody!  :D
