Absolutely. I grew up in the UK and have become sort of accustomed to peanut butter - although it's by no means one of my favourite foods. But peanut butter and jelly??!?! UGH! I don't know how anyone can eat that. 
As a child, I lived on peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches for lunch and shredded wheat for breakfast and supper

My mother went crazy but the doctor said not to worry! I think I prefer peanut butter with apple sauce now though.
Once at work (in UK) in the tea room, a colleague turned up with his little bag from the bun shop -- a cream cake. He sat there smirking over it and said to my Canadian co-worker and me, "Bet you wish you had one!" We said, "No actually -- much rather have a peanut butter sandwich"
