My eight year old son said, "You can say whatever you want, but we have tongues and we can taste that it's awful, so you'll never convince us."

But there is hope... when I was eight I would have said the same about: Marmite, olives, mustard, beer, black pudding, cod roe (hard and soft), Twiglets, curry, avocados and anchovies and now I love all of them! "Acquired tastes", my mother would call them, and then she would say "... and all the more for us."

Blarg - roe!  Sure it's delish but I just don't have the guts to try it.

I have strong memories of dinner at my Grans - a bone-in, head attached fish in a casserole of veg - and an lively discussion of who "gets" to eat the roe  :P

I'm not sure if I should say what soft roe is really...

Coming in a bit late for this, but Contrex-- fried twinkies are absolutely no match for the fried oreo:

And of course coming in at #1 time and time again is the fried mars bar/snickers [depending on the country you're in]:

And if anyone has the desire to try these magical treats, find yourself any county fair in the US. :P

HOLD THE BUS!!!

>>>>> screech>>>>>>>

Tykeman, did you get married?!

Let me think....oh yes I did! Sept 9th in Florida, I think I did mention it on here, there was a whole bit about the application for the spousal visa and how DW had to stay in the US for a week after I'd left.

There are a couple of messages I posted where I mentioned it but not a specific thread that I started, then again I did mention a few times before I was going.

Here's one
