I like peanut butter on crumpets - really glues up the mouth!

I like to smear crumpets with butter, then drizzle honey into them.  YUM!  And I will have to join those under the rock because I eat PB off a spoon all the time!   :-*

PB on it's own, on toast, in a sandwich or with honey!  YUM!  Forget the jam!  It only takes away from the loveliness that is peanut butter.

No, I'm with you. Hot toast (esp out of the oven) plus pb and optional honey.. drool. I don't like jam with pb.

I had the displeasure of tasting Marmite over the holidays and it was beyond vile  :-X
My fiance loves it though --- go figure.

No, no, no......  You put the Marmite on the toast first, then add the cheese and put it under the grill.

Next thing you'll be telling us you open the big end of your egg!   :P  ;D

that is exactly how my boyfriend says you make marmite/cheese toast. funnily enough he is from norfolk as well. maybe it is a regional thing?

i got him marmite to have while he was visiting me, and now i am stuck with the leftovers in the jar, so i will try my best to become accustomed to the taste. that said, marmite infused cheese you get in the uk is yummy!

Could be, although I'm a Londoner and always did it that way.  It's possibly just one of those family things where the way you're used to seeing it done is the way which seems "right" to you.

Remember that Marmite needs to be used very sparingly, not spread thickly like peanut butter or chocolate spread.   :)

Tried another Twiglet last night to see if I had adjusted to the taste. Nope, still vile.
Though some of my coworkers forced me to eat a Walkers marmite flavoured crisp a few weeks ago, and it was ok. Why do Twiglets taste like burnt pretzels to me? They are so gross!  [smiley=puke.gif]  DH loves them.

I might be able to try a little marmite with cheese toast if someone offered, but I don't want to go through the trouble of buying a whole jar just to try it. So, if I ever come visit one of you Marmite luvahs, you can try to convert me.

Theres a tape  of George Harrison asking for a cheese lettuce and Marmite sandwich (I think he meant butty) before playing a demo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

You can hear the lack of Marmite in the recording as the later version was much better.

Marmite and large leaf watercress is nice. :P

When my husband tried it for the first time, he plastered it all over his bread..I knew he would hate it..I cant stand too much myself.  It has to be very sparingly, then it is scrumptious  :P

Jewlz...you are not alone on Twigletts - I find them vile and I am a marmite fan.  :)

Do you have a Giant or Wegmans nearby?  They carry it in both those stores.
