News full of the U2 concert at Somerville Theatre in Davis Sq.  Only 900 admitted by special "invitation" (from various local radio stations) but thousands more milling around outside!   8)

Happy Evacuation/St. Paddy's Day!!   It's an official holiday in Suffolk Co. (Boston), Cambridge and Somerville but I think the only things closed down are City Hall and public libraries.  The US mail will go through as usual.

Here's an interesting tidbit:  A telephone scam was picked up because they were pretending to be a local bank and pronounced it "Haver-HILL" rather than "Haver'll" ;D
Ha Ha!

I don't recall Larry Glick at all.

All the kids at Boston Latin have been in an uproar about vampires at the school!  The headmaster has assured parents there are no vampires.

Simultaneous bomb threats and bank holdups are going around the burbs.  Last night the Star Market in Wellesley was evacuated because of possible bomb found in pay phone and at the same time someone was robbing a local bank.

Hi Everyone from the Boston area!  I just wanted to introduce myself since I am from MA (western part) but went to school and lived in Boston for a few years.  I just moved to the UK 3 weeks ago, and since baseball season is starting I am already missing watching the sox...and once the season officially begins I am going to miss going to games!

Lawrence Public Schools banned outside drinks after some kids were caught drinking. Pregnant teacher rushed to hospital after dehydration from the new rule. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO108743/

Hi Kaylesh,

I am from Southwick.  It borders CT and Agawam.  You know the dip in the state that goes into CT...that is Southwick.  Aaahh..you went to zoo Mass.  i had a lot of friends that went there.  Yeah that part of the state is nice...and many people from MA forget it exists = ).  Are you originally from the Eastern part of the state?  I went to college in Waltham.

ahhh the Zoo.  I loved that zoo.  Used to bring my nieces there every year at least once.  My sister and I would make a day of it.  Good times.  Hi Stefanie welcome to UK Yankee.  I lived in Hyde Park and moved to Wales nearly 5 years ago now.  I'm a Bruins fan and there really isn't a comparable team here.  They just don't really do ice hockey here either!

Glad you are here.

Are you talking about the same zoo? I think they're talking about ZooMASS (UMASS Amherst).

;D  I spent a semester at that "zoo" too.

Been seeing a lot in the news lately about young men killing their grandmas or mothers.  The most recent is a horrific killing in Milton of two young girls stabbed to death by their older brother.  A third sister was also attacked but police managed to shoot the brother in time.  What's going on!?

Talking of baseball, did anyone see the clip of Manny (of being-Manny fame) playing cricket?  In Arizona, I think it was.

Thanks!

Sorry,  yeah  I was talking about zooMass!  Although there is a Southwick Zoo, however it isn't in Southwick.  Go figure.  I think it is out in the Worcester area.

I was just on Boston.com and saw about those horrible killings in Milton.  So sad.

I didn't see that clip of Manny!  I am going to look for it!  He is such a head case!  I was at the game where he went into the Green Monster wall and almost missed part of the game!  Not sure what he was thinking??
