The closest we get is the odd Nandos and Subway if we are on the run.

I love Nandos, but think Subway is disgusting.
Three strikes, you're out... i've tried Subway 3 times, and each time it was vile.

I don't like either, but I do think Subway food is probably one of the most disgusting things on the planet! I've tried it two or three times, and it always tasted sort of rancid to me.

Okay, I need to know what 'Chipotle' is!!!  I don't eat fast food, but you guys have got me wondering.

I went to Subway once, but the smell is so vile I couldn't stomach eating there.

Ummmm...  That would be Wahaca I am afraid, the new White City one...

There is actually another Mexican place in their food court type area (where the risotto bar and Square Pie are) which is more like Chipotle/Mucho Mas. The name escapes me at the moment but it is definitely a burrito bar. :-) However, it was awful the last time I tried it - the food was all cold!

Very excited about the Chipotle news.

I'd rather eat a sandwich I found smooshed on the street than something from Subway.

I don't get it - isn't Subway just a bunch of fresh chopped veggies, cheese, and meat (optional) on bread?

Subway is the only fast food DH and I eat. I would rather eat a freshly prepared healthy sandwich than something horrific from McDonald's or Burger King. Perhaps because we only have veggies and cheese subs we find it quite nice if we're stuck for somewhere to eat. How can you go wrong with veggies and cheese on bread?
Ok, so I'm smug.

It's mostly their bread that makes me want to  [smiley=puke.gif]. I don't know what they do to it, but it doesn't taste or feel like bread. Plus, they use so much mayo in everything, and that smells/tastes off. As do their meats. I know they say everything is fresh, but my tastebuds say otherwise!

I've known several people who worked for Subway in their youth.  I've heard enough from them to know I can never eat there again. :-X

Ah well, I guess I always think, 'How much can they screw up veggies and cheese?' At least I get to stand there and see what goes in.

I suppose if I was a meat eater, I might think twice about eating meat that had been sitting out for god knows how long.  :-X

The only place mentioned here that I've been to is Chili's. BLECH!  :P

Why would anyone choose to eat fast food from a chain place when they could either go to a real restaurant or cook something good at home??  ???

Because some nights, it's just easier/cheaper. I hardly ever go out to eat, but there are times when some (fake) PF Changs is just what I want!

Kitsonk- we have some authentic Chinese places here, too, that I've been to. Back in HS I had some Taiwanese friends that would invite me over all the time to make real homemade food. (drooool) The 2 times i've had Chinese food in London were NOT good. And holy cow- way over priced! How was it like 45£ for eggrolls and 2 entrees??

Vicky -
Chipotle is not really "fast food" as usual. Its fresh, customizable and yummy! Its all made right there in front of you. Basically take a huge chewy flour tortilla, put some really good cilantro (coriander?) flavoured rice, black or pinto beans, choice of meat or no meat, various choices of salsas, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and then wrap it all up and eat until your hearts content!  (or put it in a bowl and eat with fork - much easier)

Super yum.

I suggested Subway the other day to my BF when we were looking for something quick. He said he doesn't eat Subway. Uh, you used to! He said not since I introduced him to Panera in the US. So, Subway is dead to you now?? Apparently it is.  :P

I wish Chipotle would open in my town!  :(

I could do without ANY of these chain restaurants and I could really do with a good NY/NJ/CT Tri-state Area Greek Family owned diner, open 24 hours, bottomless cups of coffee, seafood is as good as italian food is as good as greek food is as good as the big salad...

Thats what I could do with.

(but I do love Subway. Love it. Love the people who work at my local subway and I do love their sandwiches and their bread)

Man oh man, I miss those! I could kill for a bowl of chicken noodle with a matzoball the size of a basketball in the middle! And a tuna melt.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
