It's not horrific (for a midwesterner) here in York at the moment, but we could get up to 12 inches tomorrow.  And guess what, they still expect us into work tomorrow!

They shut our offices (where I work, except not today!) down for the evening staff today.  They say we could get up to 1 1/2 feet here!  I am praying work closes tomorrow!  :)

And, I managed to nearly slice off my finger during the worst of it trying to make Lunch.

Still snowing here.  I thought I'd go to Sainsbury's about 5 for some milk but the roads were so slick that I realised very quickly that I would be wise to go straight back home.  I tried going towards the ASDA, which is closer and an easier drive,  but same story.  I ended up getting out my Canadian winter boots and walking to the Keys store.

I've already decided that I'm walking into work tomorrow. It will take me about 1.5 hours with the snow.  DS will most likely stay home because it is too far for him to walk and I just don't trust the roads - or other drivers for that matter!

And how's this for warped...  My Canadian husband took my Canadian-born-elementary-school-years-in San Diego CA-son tobogganing...  ON OUR BOOGIE BOARD!!!  They certainly are resourceful!

I thought my work would be dead today (charity shop), but it ended up being almost as busy as a normal Monday would have been.

I can't wait to see how much more snow we get overnight!

We have about 2 inches here, and still falling.  I went out and threw some snowballs.  My MIL went to Tesco and said it was packed.  She thinks people are stocking up on emergency supplies :)  I grew up in Wisconsin, so I find all this excitement pretty entertaining.

What I found funny is that it was the adults chucking snowballs and building snowmen...the kids round here were perfectly respectable!  My nieghbour of 48 made a snow cat.  She was very proud...childhood reborn!  ;)

still got a few inches here on the ground, though it's stopped snowing now.  Not going into work though as I live on a hill, it's icy, and really don't fancy trying to navigate it (read: fall down and slide on my ass every few feet) trying to catch the bus.  Still have to work from home though so it's not really a day off for me!
