We've still got about a foot of snow on the ground.  Very few cars have moved from our road.  And the main road is still quiet.  Surrey seems to have gotten it the worst.

I'm working at home again, but that's partly because I need to concentrate on a paper I'm writing. It's alternating sunny and dusty snow here this morning. Our road is really, really icy and our car still has a good 3 or 4 inches sitting on it. Nothing's melted in the back garden at all.

What I found funny is that it was the adults chucking snowballs and building snowmen...

DH and I went out for a bit yesterday and threw snowballs at each other and romped around in the drifts that hadn't been walked in yet - it was excellent!  ;D

It's mostly ice here!  The car in the back has not moved.  I wish someone had a shovel, it would help a lot!

James made a feeble attempt to get our car out and then phoned work.  They told him not to bother but if it gets better to come in this afternoon.  I'm off and the kids are off.
The sun's out, so it might start to melt.

This is the Downs next to our house.  Everybody was up there yesterday.

Stuck inside and will likely be driven crazy by this.

Hubby shovelled the front walk in hopes the food van will still arrive. Wishing the council provided us with our own salt box. Will email them to this effect, methinks.

I think we need a really good rain to get rid of it all. (And the temps to go up)

Wow Mindy, the Downs look amazing!

It is.  Everybody's on the Golf course playing and the rest of the Downs is untouched.

I was so happy with all the snow yesterday! Waking up to the snow covered streets felt like Christmas morning. All transport was shut down around us, so we spent the day in Kew Gardens instead of going into work. Sadly, it's business as usual today.

Huge fat snow flakes came down this morning - almost blizzard weather..but now we have sunshine.

We all made it to work today...but we are having a whinge about making it here and wanting to be at home  ;)

We used to have salt/grit boxes in the streets in germany, also there are some where my parents live but its not the norm here.  Shame really..we could have done them around my way, its like a rabbit warren.  The amount of accidents was mayhem.  People smashing into the street sign, people ploughing into parked cars on drives..madness!
