I know it's only Feb 1st, but I am so ready for spring!  It seemed like winter (cold temps) began so much earlier this year (in October) & it's going on & on & on...  :-\\\\  My in-laws were saying the same when I spoke to them a couple days ago - they're in Norwich, wonder if it's snowing there?

I arrived in October.  Spring will probably start when I go home.

It's feeling hard for me because this is my first winter back in this country after nineteen years in a place that has milder winters and then is broiling hot the rest of the year. The hot summers killed me but now the bloody British winter is killing me too. I can't win. Even my "winter" clothes that sufficed in Austin Texas are not warm enough for this freezing crap. I'm cold ALL the time while even other Brits don't seem to feel it so badly. This is feeling like the coldest winter of my life because I'm just not used to this crap anymore......It makes me angry and I miss Austin.

It can get too cold to actually snow.

I beg to differ.  It would have to be pretty DARN cold for it to not snow.  I've seen it snow at -43C.  I don't think we're in any danger of that here...

We're having lovely snow (East mids) and the temp is dropping  so it might actually accumulate!

I beg to differ.

Me too. That myth used to really sort of irritate me and I did a bit of research on it a year or so ago. It can't be too cold to snow. What keeps it snowing if it's very, very cold is the amount of moisture.  :)

I'm freezing! I went to Hove Saturday afternoons where it was even colder, spent the night in a cold, cold, cold house (the owner would turn the heat *up* to 16C whenever it got 'really cold'), took the cold train to the cold train station to the cold bus and didn't get warm until I was in a hot bath in my friend's flat in North Greenwich.

Then I look out the window at it was snowing. :(

It's the humidity that's making it feel so cold to me. My town in Colorado is the exact same temperature today but it's sunny and dry and they are wearing denim jackets.

Sure wish I had some gloves!

It's snowing and beautiful outside! I went outside in fleece pajama pants, a tank top, and bedroom slippers and just stood in the snow.

While I've been cold in the UK, I don't feel the cold at all when it snows.  in PA, I regularly would go outside wearing shorts in the snow.

It's not snowed a bit here.  Nice, fairly bright skies.  Bit of wind, and it is cold, but on the whole not too bad a day for these parts.

I can't say I miss snow after living in Colorado.  I think it sucks, especially if you have to drive anywhere.

It was gorgeous up here today! Blue skies all day. A bit chilly, but nothing abnormal.  We walked along the beach all day though and that was a bit brisk. (I was a bit frozen solid at the end!)  But not enough to stop anyone, as it was really nice out.

I'm jealous of everyone with snow!

We have had none all day, but I have just noticed a very very slight flurry.

I hope it gets thicker  :D

It's not the snow that bothers me -- snow is fine, and all very pretty.

It's the bitterly cold temperatures, snow or no snow, that I really hate about being in this country as opposed to the particular place I lived in the US.  The winters were mild in my neck of the woods, and apart from some icestorms we didn't have to freeze to death. We roasted to death, lol, but that's another story. But it left me with poor tolerance of cold now. I'm very happy for the folks who love to stand around outside in their PJs or whatever it was, well lovely for you. But it's miserable for those without good physical tolerance and that's not something that can be helped. I'm pretty thin and small and the temperature gets right to me at either extreme. I'll choose staying inside with artificial heat or cooling, thanks.
