But at the end of the day... it's a few inches, not a few feet. I think most of us should pull through.

Besides that, I suspect most of it will be gone by tomorrow.

It's snowing heavily here in S. Yorks...sadly I'm at work since it's just an inch or so on the ground and all the buses are still running.  Jealous of you all who get to stay at home!

I really hate cold weather and snow as a rule, but I'm glad I've got a huge stash of warm clothes and coats now so at least I'm not completely frozen (with the exception of my feet, I need some warmer socks!)

New englanders, people from the northern parts of the US, Canadians, Norwegians, Swiss, whatever, would all laugh at these "rough conditions" -
Its all about what you are used to and its all relative!!!

One of my (UK) friends just texted me to ask how I can drive in "all that white stuff". I told her many years of practice and a competent teacher, then advised her to not drive if she doesn't have to.

ETA - Woah, it's really coming down now. Seriously, if you don't have experience driving in this kind of weather, stay in!

Besides that, I suspect most of it will be gone by tomorrow.

Especially if it rains!  :P

It's snowing heavily here in S. Yorks...

Snow on & off through the night in W Yorks, and right now too.  It's my normal day off so fortunately I'm cozy at home, although I'll need to trudge down to Morrisons etc - something for tea.  Pulling on the waterproof hiking boots for that.

Steve went on into work, so I guess the trains must be running just fine here.  I imagine the morning commute for car & bus commuters was special though.

We've only had a dusting of snow so far in Wiltshire, it just started this morning and it doesn't look like we'll get much, again. Snow (and extreme weather in general, storms etc) is one of the things I miss most. If it's going to be freezing cold, then let it be pretty instead of just wet drizzle. :) Freezing fog can be quite pretty though.

Take care everyone who're in the harder hit regions!

University is closed out this way, so no work for me today!  :D We have about 6" in Surrey/Hampshire and it is still coming down.

I arrived in October.  Spring will probably start when I go home.

Ha!  I knew there had to somebody we could blame!  ;D  AnnaOnTheMoon!

We only have a light dusting of snow here.  My children were a little disappointed, because they would have liked a day off school and a chance to build snowmen.  I think there's more headed our way though.  My husband insisted on driving up to the London area for work this morning, silly man.  ::)

When I got up with DD at 4 this am, it was just spitting a bit. When we got up at 8 it had stopped. Now almost 2 hours later it's coming down like a blizzard out there! Very Cool! Just hope it pauses on DH's way home tonight.

I just went out and would guess there's about 4" maybe. I don't think it's going to stop - we've just had an email from the Chief Exec's PA to say that it's meant to get worse before it gets better and if we came into the office to be smart about what time we leave. Honestly though we can see the A40 from our window and it's totally clear and traffic is moving fine....

I've been out with the kids but it's not that cold.  Not as cold as yesterday. There are NO cars on the road here though.

This is the road by our house and it's usually really really busy.  The only other time I've ever seen people walking on it was Millenium Eve.

Tim's at work, so the trains in Lincolnshire are still running.

Oh dear. Not good that people are being bullied into going to work when driving conditions are unsafe....  :(

It is pretty though.  ;)
