Not yay..when pressured to get into work by company, car slides off the road even tho i was doing about 2 miles per hour...colides into the side of the road. Tyre exploads and had to get home by driving my car on its rims...my car is *bleep*ed  >:(  Last thing I need..another expense..  >:(

Oh dear. Not good that people are being bullied into going to work when driving conditions are unsafe....  :(

I know. I was made to feel pretty guilty for not being able to get there. My only option would've been to walk 3.5 miles.  ::)

Hey!  We had a 60+ year old woman walk 5 miles through the snow, back when it snowed here before Christmas - just to get to the office.  ;) :P

Seriously, she really did that.  She arrived about 2-3 hours late, but she arrived.  :o

Uphill both ways? ;)
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I'm really lucky, the exec producer emailed the morning and said no worries, everyone work from home today :D Which is great as my commute involved 2 tubes, a train and a bus, the tube lines are suspended and they buses aren't running so it would have been nightmarish to get in.
So DB and I were up at 6:30am anyway, so around 7pm we went for a walk to tower of london and tower bridge and got some photos :D (although the battery in my DSLR went down after about 5 shots - boo :( ) and then stopped at starbucks in the dock to warm up.
Was home by about 8:30, so now I'm snuggled up on the sofa with my laptop, and London looks amazing!!!!

Glad you're okay LuckyCuz, that's insane though, the roads outside are 3 inchesof compacted ice and cars are skidding past our house.

I sent cake to work with Steve, so all of his work mates who made it in were really happy about that.  (They're all boys.)  Only the team's two managers didn't make it in - so no cake for them, just for the worker bees.  Including the one who (as Steve put it) 'lives at the North Pole' - i.e., County Durham - he made it in.  [smiley=laugh3.gif]

No, it was flat, because she was walking beside the Leeds-Liverpool canal.  I teased her because I said if only the canal had been frozen, she could have put on her skates & commuted to work Hans Brinker-style.  It was cleared enough for her to get the bus home though.  I sh*t you not - she did walk 5 miles into work, and not because anyone was bullying her, but because she wanted to.  I guess?  Maybe it's an older generational thing?  I mean, who does that?  She is a bit dotty though, in the best possible way.

I only got a couple really bad photos last night because it was coming down pretty strong, and I didn't want to get my crackberry wet:

I hope we can take better ones today.

Yes, I hope everyone and their loved ones stay safe and warm (including me and mine).  We were so careful crossing last night expecting people to slide through intercections, but people seemed to be v. cautious.  I still love and miss snow.  I am a winter person.  I always have been, and I always will be.  I know that not everyone is, but different strokes and all that.

Hope to get more pics today/tonight.  My photo of the Battersea Power Station in the snow comes out on my phone, but can barely be seen on my computer.  :-\\\\

One guy tried to get out this morning, blocking us all in. (We are not crazy enough to try and get out anyway)

It is gorgeous though!

And Josh is loving it!
