leg pain
« on: January 13, 2009, 10:35:39 PM »
Seriously yall.

For the second time in a few weeks, I'm dealing with tingling and pain in my right inner thigh that shoots down my leg to the ball of my foot.  Last time it took 2 days to move to my foot, but developed over the course of the day today and it hurts hurts hurts.

I'm pretty sure it's from my back pack - carrying too much weight.  I haven't been very active for the last month or so, but when I leave the house it's to lug books to and from the library.  I also have done some backpack grocery store runs (because I thought they were light enough).

I made a GP appointment to deal with fluid in my ears, and I will mention it but have a feeling that I'll get told to stop carrying so much weight and if it doesn't get better to come back.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?  Anything I can do to relieve it in the mean time?

ETA:  Yes, I know I need to get active again.  Fitness thread, here I come  :)

thanks  :(

I had a trapped nerve in my groin about 4 years ago.  I never did anything excessive to cause it ( no comments here please  ;) ) but the doctor thought I had possibly slept funny.  It was a weird sensation that my foot would tingle and then sharp pain from my inner thigh to the base of my foot, followed after for a few hours of a very dull ache.

I found raising my leg helped alot by putting a few pillows under it at night and some Ibruprofen.  Hot baths also eased it slightly.  Sometimes I would be fine and then other times agony again.  It took a good two weeks at least to clear.  Sometimes I couldn't bend my leg to get in the passenger seat of a car or put pressure on it to go up stairs.. Horrid.
