He was one of my first crushes when I was in around 6th grade and he was on DAys of Our Lives.

I met him while he was doing GH and I was so in love with him  [smiley=smitten.gif]. My friend was like "ew, thats my uncle" we were 13 at the time.

Most recently while in Manchester with my hubby's aunt and uncle I was forced into taking a picture with some old man who is in Cornation street or Eastenders or one of those soaps. I don't know his name but I'll find out when hubby gets home.

Johnny Briggs! That's the guy... he played Michael Baldwin in Cornation Street.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I forgot that a couple weeks ago Ian McKellen  [smiley=heart.gif] was in my town opening the renovation/addition to our playhouse!  It's not a proper brush with fame since I didn't actually meet him.  :( But it reminded me of that excellent bit he did on Extras and I went around thinking "Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian...Wizard you shall not pass...Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian" for the rest of the week.

Dame Judi Dench was at our hospital around the same time after injuring her hand falling over at the director Richard Eyre's house.  Somehow everyone in my town except me seems to have run into her there.

President Obama's visiting a middle school about three miles from my house today.  Not a brush with fame, technically, but still pretty darn cool. :D

I have another one. I had seen this on the news at the time but didn't recognise her, only just found out this is my friend's cousin who I hung out with a few times as a teenager:

I've had a couple:

Sent a fax for Willem Dafoe a long time ago - he was very polite (and HOT!)

Been in a lift with Radiohead

Met Rhys Ifans - he was out of his face and kept checking his trousers to 'make sure my cxck isn't hanging out' nice!  Got a piccie though.

Spoke to Robyn Williams after we happened upon a crowd outside some museum in New York - turned out to be some movie premier.

Followed Gavin Hastings around Next in Edinburgh (ex Scottish Rugby Union captain, HUGE crush at the time)

and...

My DHs first wife (who is a lot older than he is) used to be a call-girl in Las Vegas in the 70s and apparently had a night with Elvis.  No reason to disbelieve it but I have no proof.

I've had a couple too...

Saw Don Cheadle once on a plane to LA.

Met Hillary Clinton once when she was Senator for NY.

Have hung out with the Skatalites and Fishbone.

An ex-roomate served coffee to Robert Downey Jr. while in Huntington Beach to meet his parole officer.

And my all time favorite... Had Dennis Rodman pay for my way to get into a punk show.  I'm pretty sure he was at the strip club in the same parking lot, saw a crowd of people and decided to make an appearance.

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

bite me :-* ;D

i forgot about the time i met sting.

my best friend is a huge fan and made me stand in line with her to meet him at a cd signing at borders on michigan avenue in chicago. i got bored waiting in the queue and started having a perusal of the liner notes to the cd. (i am a proofreader.) i found a typo.

i couldn't help myself.

when it was my turn to meet mr sumner and have my cd signed, i pointed out the error to him and told him i thought that, as a former english teacher, he'd want to know. he signed that page in the liner notes, but i don't think he was too pleased with me.
