I've had a few. Saw Jude Law, Sadie Frost, and Kate Moss (all together, obviously pre Law/Frost divorce) at a Radiohead concert in Oxford. I was really obsessed with him at the time so it was a big deal.

Sat very close to Luke Wilson in a restaurant... and stared a lot

Billy Corgan offered to phone my mother to ask if we could go to a Smashing Pumpkin's concert. It was at an autograph signing with my sister, and when he asked if we were going to the concert the next day, we told him we weren't allowed. He said he would give us free tickets if our parent's would let us come. I could only reach my father who made the offer "If he comes to church on Sunday morning, you can go to the concert Sunday night" I just hung up the phone. :)

Most recently.. we flew back to London this Tuesday and Karl Rove and Donna Brazile were both on our flight from Atlanta to Heathrow. We were sitting in the back of an empty lounge across from our boarding lounge, and they came and sat very close to us. It was a bit surreal as CNN was on and talking about all the bad policies of the Bush administration. I heard Donna on the phone saying they were travelling to Africa.

LOL!  Two Dallasites met Billy!  That is awesome!  I was so starstruck since they were my fave band at the time.

Also, one of my best friend's is Stevie Ray Vaughan's first cousin.  She only met him a few times since she was really young when he died.

On behalf of my mother, who's had a lifelong crush on Mr. Garner, your nana sucks. ;)

He was an incredibly handsome man! Your mother has good taste, Abby. And your nana is a lucky woman, Belita. I'm trying to think of some sexual innuendo based around the words Rockford and file, but am coming up empty. My apologies.

Those are far more fun than "I saw ______ in _______", don't you think?  Here's my favorite:  My parents' next door neighbors had them to dinner, along with Jean-Claude Van Damme's body double.

Heeee!!! I agree!

And the more obscure and weird the celeb, the better. I have always maintained that the ultimate celeb sighting would be Soupy Sales.

My mother partied with Jim Morrison in his hotel room after a show - but had to leave early as she was only 16 and had a curfew!!  ;D

Ohhh man, I don't think I would have left and just would have suffered the consequences of being late!!!!!

My dad's friend Jim grew up with the band members of Lynyrd Skynyrd.  He was great friends with them and was there as they grew through their success.  He was at all their weddings and everything.

In that case, John Tesh came into the record store I worked in, and he shuffled through the bargain bin of Christmas albums and put his in front.  No joke!!!   ;D

Oh, so many good ones!  :)  Thanks guys!

MeShell, I'll be watching out for a beautiful woman in a white fox stole.  :D

Here's a tangential connection of mine. My grandparents' house is in the security zone around the Obamas' house in Chicago and can't be googled.  My Dad went to the same elementary school as the little Obama girls actually. Most obscure and trivial of all, the school where Barack Obama voted is named after one of my relatives who was a teacher.

According to my mom, my nana's the one who broke up with him. What would you mom think of that!?  :o

I'm pretty sure it would be "More for me!" ;D

I'd Rockford his files any day.

Me, too!

Here's one I forgot:  When walking around Manhattan with some art college friends *years* ago passed right by Andy Warhol who was giving out flyers on the street.

The thing is she must not have thought she was all that lucky if she broke up with him! I sometimes wonder what life would have been like if Maverick was Grandpa....  :-\\\\

I had a friend who used to tell everyone her grandmother changed Tommy Lee Jones' diapers. I guess he's a second or third cousin.

Elizabeth Taylor's children were in the same horse riding class as I was - that was in Dublin in the 60's, and I went to  high school with Peter Ustinov's son and daughter

I have run into quite a few celebs and minor celebs, as I lived in Santa Monica in my teens, but I suck at facial recognition and so was usually told afterward who I had met, served or whatever. Most notably Anthony Keidis. If he had been wearing a sock I'm sure I would've clocked him! ;)

My fave was Punky Brewster, who I recognised despite the huge boobs she has grown. She asked me for a hairwrap on Venice Beach and then got snippy about the price.
