So, are most of these burgers in the freezer section?  (I need to tell the husband where to look!!!)  They all sound great!!!

My chipotle ones are. The M&S ones are in the chiller. Oh, and those are on offer right now - 2 for 3 quid.  :D

I disagree with this. I liked Morningstar 'chicken' patties, but I find Quorn to be vile. I've tried it different ways and I just can't like it.

Wow! Really? I found the quorn ones to be better quality overall. I remember the days when we couldn't get anything though, but the dry oat-y mix at the specialty health store (which i still love!). The industry has evolved quite a bit and it's great to have choices! :)

Yeah, it's the texture and the aftertaste. Just doesn't do it for me. I've tried the mince and the fillet pieces. I think overall I prefer bean type veggie burgers to the fake meat ones.

Me too. And the other good thing about the beany ones is that my meat-eating fiance likes them too! I can't see him ever eating the fake meat ones, though.

I like Frys veggieburgers, available at Holland & Barrett health food stores in the freezer section. They are the meaty type, about £3.50 for a pack of 6. Quite substantial.

Probably not what you are looking for.....
A lot of the JP food markets will have a tofu burger kit.  It contains the seasoning and all you have to do is add tofu that you have pressed over night to get rid of the water....
But once you know how to make it, you don't really need the kit....
So if you dont mind tofu, you can make your own  :)

OK, so I went out on a limb and purchased the Quorn chili burgers, Quorn bangers, and Quorn cheese and pesto escalopes (I think that is what they are, but I'm not looking at the package) but have yet to try any of them.  I didn't get a chance to check out the frozen ones, but will have a look next time.  Those were at Sainsbury's, btw.  I shall report back once I have given them the taste-test!  Thanks for all the replies!

I think Quorn saisages are vile, which is why I suggested Sainsbury's own / Tesco own or Cauldron.

Yeah, not keen on the sausages either.  I find the swedish-style Quorn meatballs are not bad, the pieces and fillets are fine, and the escalopes are outstanding.  Otherwise I'd stick to the burgers, myself.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Hmmmm..... sorry to hear that.  That means they might sit in the freezer for a loooooong time.   :P  I didn't notice any of Sainsbury's own brand (and I usually like their own label stuff) but these just caught my eye in the chilled section.

OK, well I will try the escalopes and burgers first then.... I see a veg burger coming up on what's for tea tomorrow night!   ;D

I actually like the Quorn bangers, and the mince is great. I don't like the fake chicken things, or the bacon. (I did like fake bacon back in the states, though.)

The escalopes are nice, all the flavours. That's the only chicken-y stuff of theirs I can stomach.

I also like the Swedish style meatballs. They recently changed the recipe and it made all the difference. (I also tried the Grassington's meatballs, which were pretty good.)

Just wanted to pipe in that not everybody dislikes the sausages! And a meat eater, no less...

Cool... well they will most likely be topped with some sort of gravy, anyway, so it probably won't be exactly vegetarian, but it's ok for me since I was just looking for less calories and fat than the regular sausages. I'm trying a burger tonight, so we will see how I like it!

We do bangers and mash with them, so lots of gravy and some fried onions, too. They are good in sandwiches, and I've done toad in the hole with them.

On the gravy, though, the red can original Bisto is veggie. I keep that for Adam (though I usually pimp it out with some stock, onions, etc.), and I do a pan gravy from whatever meat I'm having.

Yes, I thought some of the Bisto gravy granules must be vegetarian, as our company manufactures the Bisto Roast Potatoes, Croquettes, and Crispy Bites, which are all vegetarian (we don't have a licence to use meat products).  Good to know for when my veggie friend comes to visit, would like to make her some veggie bangers and mash!  I can try to experiment with it a bit before she comes for a visit.

Tried the Quorn chili burger last night, it was good.  Pretty much just like the Morningstar Farms grillers, from what I can remember. Looking forward to the escalopes at some point this week.
