GBP/USD FX

Dont take my word for it, because I dont know, but I read somewhere that we could see a 1.25 exchange rate in the near future.
As I said, I dont know about that... but current levels are already surprising...
Good for some - Bad for some ...

How does this translate onto jobs and salaries or the lack thereof?
we'll just be making less and less as compared to the USD?
I wouldnt think they keep matching... anyone on a dollar salary?

an article on the BBC website this morning quoted one expert as saying he expects the pound to eventually reach parity with the dollar!  That would be really bad news for my student loans....
Now a triple citizen!

When I applied for jobs in the UK over the last couple of years, I kept on hoping that the dollar would get stronger against the pound.  Now I'm finally moving and it is, but because of economic meltdown.  I guess I better be careful what to wish for!

It's mostly bad because it testifies to the weakness of the pound more than the strength of the dollar.

However, I'm not sure where it will go from here. There's clearly lots of concern that the dollar is really not very strong. The strength of the currency even came up in the Geithner confirmation hearings.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

From what I read a while ago, everything's in the tubes.  It's more of which one will epically fail the least.  I remember a few forex analysts saying that the pound will eventually pull up because the dollar is doing well right now because of some false hope (basically).  However, I'm more concerned about the euro right now as I wanted to have some holidays in the Eurozone with some lagniappe (that's "added extra" for those of you not familiar with Cajun/Creole slang) thanks to the exchange rate (which doesn't look like it'll happen now).

I need the pound to go up, please! This crappy exchange rate is killing me and my US debt and causing me undue stress.

I keep the US/UK/EUR real-time currency exchange rate monitor up on my Windows Vista sidebar 24/7. I glance at it now and then and either frown or smile or look blank.  :P

I just wired most of my savings from my us account to my uk account. I figure I am going to need most of it to sign a lease, get a car, etc. So now offically I guess I am rooting for the pound to gain strength. I could have put the wire off for a few more weeks, I hope I do not kick myself for going now.

Sidebar is available in Windows Vista, not sure how to do it in XP, Mac or others. But just select show sidebar=>add gadgets=>currency
