Is it possible to hire a car without a passport?
« on: January 22, 2009, 02:57:35 PM »
Hello!

I just sent off my FLR visa application and will be without my passport for awhile... I need to rent a car for two days in a few weeks and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to do it without a passport.  I have my driving license from the US and I'm still valid to drive on it until September.  Has anybody hired a car recently - and if so do they need to see your passport or is a US license sufficient?

Thanks for any info!
-Stacey

You should be able to rent a car without your passport.  I think if you show them your American licence, it will have your details that they would need.

Just make sure you have the proper insurance!
