Doggies are getting picked up this week!!!
« on: January 28, 2009, 01:42:50 AM »
So I am using an agency to move my two awesome dogs back to the UK.  There are a lot of reasons for this, but the biggest being that they are both rather large dogs and I am traveling back by myself and it would be a lot to do trying to travel with both of them.

They are getting picked up and leaving on Friday!!!!

The overall process was so much easier than I had anticipated.  Long and tedious?  Yes, but in the end it has all gone on without a hitch.  Just went to the USDA the other day and got their stamps and what not.  One last vet appointment for each on Thursday evening and they are good to go and the wife will be picking them up on Saturday.

So exciting.  Sorry to waste a new thread, but I need to tell my excitement to someone.  I leave in one week as well!!!!

Thanks!!  I have been more worried about them and getting their paperwork correct than I was applying for my own Visa!!!

It's just good to see that they are going off with everything having gone smoothly!

That is great news!  I've been more worried about getting the animals in than getting myself in, too, but I'm starting to panic about that now as well!

Just an update here.  The dogs were picked up on Friday and arrived in the UK on Saturday morning.  All went extremely smooth with ZERO issues with their certificates and their health.  They are very tired still adjusting to the new time zone, but from what I have seen on cam with my wife they seem to be doing very well.

I was just wondering about your dogs, George.  I am very glad everyone is doing well!

I haven't ventured into this place since I arrived...I feel bad about that.  I really should come in here more now so that I can be of help to others as much as everyone helped me.

Update on the dogs.

Since we have moved the dogs have been absolutely amazing.  I think it is very safe to say that they LOVE england and they are much happier than they have ever been (they have always been happy dogs, but more so now).

I think it is cause we walk them a lot more, they have a bigger garden to run around in and just more people to see and meet.  Either way they are two very happy puppies!!

Awe that's great!  Good to hear success stories like yours. :D  Our pup has started the process as well.  She had her rabies titer March 20th and we're looking forward to a late October move for her.  Its so good to hear from folks like you that have gone through this process successfully.

This board has been a great source of information for me as well.  I would have been far more stressed (and far less prepared) had I relied solely on the defra site.  Do stop by every now and then to give us - that have still not completed the process - some pointers!
