Baby Goth Clothes
« on: June 12, 2004, 05:22:02 PM »
I was looking at the kiddie clothes in H&M (Marble Arch) today and they had the cutest little boy's black vests and shorts with glow in the dark bats on them. Just thought I'd mention it cause there isn't much out there for the discerning goth baby.

Cool.  If anyone's really interested I do know of a few web based businesses that carry some Gothy children's clothes.  Hot Topic in the US does have a few things (if one can get over the fact that it's HT).

What's wrong with Hot Topic?  (I've never heard of it before...)

A lot of Goths feel Hot Topic is too mainstream and that they turn the idea of Goth into a fad, i.e., the word "hot" denoting it's just a passing phase and that the shop really caters to what we would call "Baby Goffs".   This is not to mention, they don't cater to just the Gothic subculture, but really anything alternative.  Personally, I'm not above shopping there.  If they have something I like then I'll buy it.  They have been known to carry stuff from Lip Service and Fun House, both of which are well known labels in Goth circles.  It's a matter of personal taste really.

Punks hate Hot Topic, too, for the same reasons.

well precisely.  I first found HT when I lived in Virginia.  When I moved back to IL there was NO Goth shopping to be had, so when the local mall got a HT I was super excited about it.  But, as I said, mostly baby Goffs there, which is fine.  I still bought some things there.  Nowadays it's just not available to me so I don't really think about it.

I tend to make things for my baby. Dye t-shirts black, paint little things on them, develop things on the computer, and print it up on Transfer paper to iron on.

He's the best dressed little Punk baby in the creche.  ;)
