There is no generic British 'yellow curry', other than in jars and in pubs with chips.  A standard 'curry' is probably a korma.

OK, well I more or less meant something like the stuff my MIL makes or what you often get in pubs. It definitely isn't a korma, it's just a mild yellow curry. I guess I will ask her. I think she just uses a mix or something.

Probably a jar or packet mix.  I have a good knowledge of curries, but I don't do instant I'm afraid.

Eh, I suppose I will just stick with the ones I know.  ;)

Jewlz, have you tried Thai yellow curry?  It's slightly different from the Indian curries that are so popular here, but it's really good, especially when made with coconut milk.

Jewlz, Balmerhon has a really good curry recipe, and it's simple to make! It always looks kind of yellow even though the curry paste looks dark orange/red in the jar.

If you want your curry to be more yellow - add more tumeric!  ;D

What I really need to do is put together my own recipe journal/cookbook of all the recipes I love to have so I could hopefully be able to replicate them abroad.  Especially mexican-style food.  I have never figure out how to make a decent salsa like they do in mexican restaurants. I hate that chunky stuff you get in the jars...I want the fresh, bright red, practically all-liquidified salsa you get in the real restaurants.  And tortillas...I had a babysitter from California who would make fresh tortillas and I just loved them.
