Big, big Lost fans here (me and my husband!) We started late on the show through renting and watching the DVDs, but we watched ALL of them and have finally been able to watch this series as it airs (well, sort of! We download the US showing because we can't wait for the UK one, haw!)

The last episode ending was great...  :o

And I definitely like how Lost continues to be weird and not straight-forward.

I need to go read those links you posted.  Thank you!

Yeah, they're super good (thanks, again, goods!) Lemme know what you think when you're done reading, Stacey.

Good's links theorized that Sayid shooting Lil' Ben is WHY he is a horrible man in his adulthood...  Hmm...

Yeah, think that is a good theory, it is kind of the feather breaking the camel's back for lil Ben.

Oh a side note, while Ben is evil, he is an amazing character, without him the show just wouldn't be the same.

I just realized what time it is.  I need to run an get Josh soon, but I'll read ASAP.

Totally would make sense why Ben is the way he is.

I agree, as much as he creeps me out, the show would not be the same without Ben!

E, where are you!?

WOW is all I can say! :o

I'm here now!
I'll be truly impressed if 10-year old Ben IS dead, AND they can explain how!  I mean, Sayid doesn't really miss the mark, y'know?  Was the last shot of Sayid going away from Ben and not checking the body?  If so, then it's very likely Ben was badly injured but not killed.  I'll be ok if it is an injury, though it certainly takes away from the shock value ending.
I've never had my jaw drop to the floor... at least not anytime recently I can think of.  What an ending!!

And if these theories (this is what starts the big war between Dharma and The Others, etc.), I'm dying to know how it ends up/begins that the Flight 815 (and Juliet, etc.) people will have no recollection of this.

What I really want to know is what that bloody smoke-monster thingy is.

I love Sayid, but I didn't really love this episode.  What I want to happen with Ben's death is for him to come back like Christian Shepard or John Locke.  Let's face it--people don't stay dead on the island.  That might explain why he feels such a special connection to the island, and why he is so resentful/jealous when John is cured the first time he lands.  If it turns out that Sayid just failed to kill him, I'm going to be very unimpressed--Sayid should really be a better shot than that, as everyone else has noticed.

I agree with the above - I actually started to get a bit bored with this episode, thinking "Yes, we already know this... we've seen this... great, so Sayid only came back to die on the island?"
Then my jaw fell open, as previously mentioned.

As Sayid may be a good killer - I don't think he was totally content with what he was doing. He was likely very conflicted, considering it was Ben - but he was quite young. Sayid likely hasn't killed kids before. Which may have led him to be imperfect in getting the shot right. Because despite for how much he despises Ben - that was him as a kid. And Ben WAS reaching out to him to help him innocently because he hated it so much there. Sayid was seeing a side of Ben that was not completely as horrible and deceiving as he later becomes.

I think what needs to happen is Sayid apologize to adult Ben... then everyone will be happy campers.

Hahah.

Ha. So it just occurred to me - did Vincent time-shift around with all the humans and is he also stuck in the 70s? Or did the writers forget about our little pooch?

And Daniel Farraday, for that matter? He was there while the flashes were going on, then he seemed to have disappeared before they flashed forward to 3 years later.

What does "Welcome to the land of the living?" mean? Was it just a soundbyte?
