I am buying the whole parallel  seasons  but Des being on the plane  wouldn't be right..  very  intriguing!   and why don't they ever recognioze  each other?  (they never have)   if Des met jack before  he  saved his  wife..  or DID  hurley dream it all up??  ;)

I'm just as lost as usual... no wonder they call it Lost!  :) Excited to see where they are going with all of this. Hope it won't be a disappointment in the end!

I started watching it on Hulu over Christmas and completely caught up yesterday morning before the premiere.  I watched the premiere last night and all I can say is dubs-tee-eff?  I can't, for the life of me, imagine what is going on with this dual scenario/realities thing.

I started watching series 1 last night on hulu. Got up to episode 8! It was 2am so I fell asleep! I watched the pilot episode when it originally aired and other eps here and there but never got hooked. I have so many questions!!

Most intriguing for me was (not surprisingly) Des being on the plane, as well as he not recognizing Jack, as when they first met was well before either started out on their journeys to the island.
I await Daniel's return somehow... not too sad about Juliet... looking forward to seeing Sun and Jin reunited...
The Locke/MIB/smoke monster story makes me grin, but, I'd like a bit more than just 'he can shape-shift into' ... anything? If he is/can be the smoke monster, how does he choose whom to take? Why did he take the pilot in the first episode?  Punishment for landing there?

I am buying the whole parallel  seasons  but Des being on the plane  wouldn't be right..  very  intriguing!

Not necessarily.   If the bomb reset everything from 1977, Des never went to the island and never pressed the button for 3 years.  Des's life, without the hatch, could have led him to being on flight 815.  If that is they way they are going, then I think it is a nice link.

I am not entirely convinced that he was "there" on the plane though, since he disappeared.  Maybe he is jumping around in time again.  Maybe he will help bring the two timelines together.

ETA:  Someone has cut together footage to see the crash in real time.  Fun.

Also Newsweek had some of their staff watch scenes from Lost and try to explain what was happening, having never seen the show.  Pretty funny.

And finally, the footage of the original crash and the alternate timeline side by side, so you can see what is different (or the same).

Yes... well, I'm now remembering about Des' precognition - that was never explained, right?  He'd already been on the island for some time, and it wasn't until after the hatch explosion he acquired it, but nothing more was ever said about it.  But I guess that's similar to Locke's legs.
Funny when people joked about Des with all the hair looked like Jesus... HECusick did play Jesus in an earlier film!

Desmond has never been explained but I do wonder if he just has the ability to see parallel times -- since this is the direction they are taking us.

Locke was just healed by the island.  I don't think we will ever get more of an explanation that that.  The island has healing properties period. Whether that is wholly from the electromagnetic properties or a combo of that and something else, who knows.  I think this is just something we are suppose to just accept at this point.

Love this site to help keep all the questions and answers in check.  Funny though they added lots more questions to the list after LA X!

When was it that Jack and Des first met?  Was Jack running stadium steps?  It was really confusing that he was on the plane, but hey, it's Lost!

Oh and how weird that Boone's sister was not n the plane this time!  Where the heck is she!?

The DH ended up watching with me last night (He stopped after season three)  I think he's hooked again! :D

Rose also claimed to have been healed by the island.

The first time Jack and Des met was on the stadium steps, but who knows if that even happened in the new timeline.

I think the point of Shannon missing from the plane and a lot of the other small differences is that these aren't really the same people from the pilot episode, who have just landed as normal.  The island disappeared (presumably) in the alternate timeline in 1977, so 30years have passed and these people have now lived their lives slightly differently, like a butterfly effect.

Locke was more self assured and less bitter and I don't think he was necessarily lying about going on the walkabout.  Maybe in alternate timeline, he did.  Boone likewise didn't bring Shannon back from Australia (this was mentioned), so presumably he wasn't broken Boone who guilted over his secret love affair with her. Hurley was now lucky because the numbers weren't a curse this time around -- how could they be with no island as the cause.  Maybe Desmond doesn't go on the trip around the world this time so he wouldn't have been at the stadium to meet Jack the first time.

That SciFi link is great Stacey!

I love all these theories and analyses - when was the last time a tv show had so many people masticating on the possibilities??

In any case, my mind is reeling, but I'm enjoying it all!

Alright, I caught up on the newest episode(s)...don't ask me how youtube  ;D and hopefully I'll be able to keep watching...but I have to admit I see a some sort of 'Dallas-like Bobby wasn't dead and it was all a dream' ending coming on.
