i saw an interesting documentary on bbc2 last night about the possibility of an infinite universe.

astrophysicists postulate that, in an infinite universe, there are an infinite number of worlds occurring for an infinite period of time. theoretically, this means that anything that's possible at all in an infinite universe is actually happening right now in some infinite universe--duplicate copies of you are doing things right now somewhere out there. even things that seem impossible in our universe are occurring, as other universes may not be bound by the laws of physics like we are.

i know i'm rambling, but it made sense as i watched it, and immediately made me think of 'lost'.

anyone else make the same connection?

That show sounds awesome! I love stuff like that. Maybe I should check out BBC iplayer and see if it's there. Do you remember what it was called?

Here is the Washington Post's lost central.  You can find the links to both the analysis and the question answer period... good stuff!

It looks like it was an episode of Horizon: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00qszch/Horizon_20092010_To_Infinity_and_Beyond/.

I'd really like to watch it, but I'm in the US at the moment and it won't let me view the iplayer from outside the UK :( (although actually, it says the programme is available until 7th April and I fly back to the UK on March 30th :)).

I'm still here too, though I never gave that much chatter before, I just like reading what everyone else thinks.

I also forgot the links from the show last week so here is the Washington post's Lost analysis...

I watched the Locke episode almost a week ago but I will try and remember my thoughts to try and kick off some discussion.

I was surprised by fake Locke's "don't tell me what I can't do."  It may just be a throw away line to tie you back to real Locke but that sort of doesn't make sense since we all know he isn't real Locke.  So I wonder if real Locke is starting to bleed into fake Locke somehow.

I don't think Sawyer is buying what fake Locke is selling.

Still liking all the links:  Ben as a teacher, Locke having a good relationship with his dad (easter egg picture in Locke's cubicle), etc.

Not sure if the kid in the jungle is supposed to be young Jacob or possibly Aaron.  Definitely don't think the kid's comment about "you are not supposed to kill him" meant Jacob or just Jacob (possibly Sawyer even).

Didn't like seeing scared Richard.

Anyway, that is all I remember.  I would talk about the previous week but Kate sucks and I hate her.

LOL... I'm not a fan of Kate either, but after last night's ep (I won't spoil it!) I grinned when I figured something out.  At least I'm 99% sure.  Then... that one fact doesn't really matter a whole lot to me.
But yes, FLocke saying the same line was interesting; could just be a reason MIB chose to use his image, as he's had similar frustrations for however many years Jacob and his spells/rules/followers have suppressed him.
Nice to see how the numbers relate, not sure if we'll ever know why.

Oh... what happened with Richard?  I've already forgotten... did he just walk away from MIB?  Did we last leave him on his way to the temple?

I'm a "Lost" fan too.

Spoiler: show
I wonder who Jack had the son with.  I didn't think his ex-wife was pregnant when they were together.

I suppose this is a spoiler from the episode that hasn't aired in the UK yet?

[/spoiler]

I thought it was agreed that we wouldn't have uncovered spoilers from the new episode until after the UK air date?  If that isn't the case, I will just stay away from this thread but wanted to check.
