got the courage to ride public transport
« on: February 17, 2009, 02:43:20 PM »
I have done a brave thing today.  I had to go into North End part of Portsmouth for an errand.  My husband dropped me off since he is going to the northeast for business for the rest of the week.  I got the courage to figure out how to get back to the bus station in Portsmouth on a bus.  I have been living here since June and have a fear since i am not familiar with bus routes.  I asked a lady that was waiting at the bus stop if this was going where i wanted to go to get home.  I live in Gunwharf Quays part of Portsmouth.  I was really pleased with myself that i figured it out.  Today, i did feel like a local and i liked the independence!!!

Way to go Kfleet. That's something you can take pride in and here's to many more bus trips.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Congrats!!!   ;D   I love buses and trains, and that first time on my own was such a huge HOORAY!

Yay you!  :)  I've not really attempted the buses here (as I'd have to change & pay for 3 different companies if I start in our village - grrr!), but I do take the train / tram regularly.  You're getting there!   ;D
