I no longer feel any pressure to have something alcoholic when we go out...

It's not pressure with me ... it's just that it all tastes so very nice!  ;D

Pints of bitter, lager, stout, whatever, beer is good!
Pints of cider (Jewlz, I love cider with blackcurrent, yum!)

Not much of a spirits or wine person
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)
You're stuck with me!

Either Absolut or Chopin vodka and soda or with a bit of fresh lemon juice neat.

A woman after my own heart!  Although I prefer lime over lemon juice.

I don't like sweet ciders anymore, like pear cider, yuck! I drink Strongbow or Magners sometimes, though. Blackcurrant makes the cider sweeter, so I don't really like it much. I might like some in my Guinness, though, will have to try it one day, I used to put a bit of raspberry syrup in it. I used to drink black velvets (half cider topped with half Guinness) but they don't seem to work here -- the Guinness always sinks to the bottom instead of floating like it did in the states. But I don't mind since it tastes much better here than over there!  :P

I love fruit beers, though, like Lindeman's Frambois, Peche, and Kriek, but haven't seen them here. The frambois is lush when poured over vanilla ice cream!

I've had some very dry perry before. It's still not really my thing, but it's definitely not sweet!

Timmerman's Peche Lambic is delicious!  (Its a Belgian beer & they do a variety of fuit beers).  I know you can buy Liefmans Kriek and other flavours at Morrisons.

I don't know who the brewer was, but I went to a CAMRA festival a couple years back and there was a delicious Vanilla stout there!  If you like to try beers to find one you like I'd really recommend a beer festival.

Jewlz - if you like beers you'd probably love the Devonshire Cat in Sheffield.  It has a huge assortments of Beers, Ales and Stouts on offer, plus its a Real Ale pub.  If you've ever been to the Cleveland / Northeast Ohio area and been to a Winking Lizard its very similar in having a huge assortment of beers from around the world.   ;)

In all honesty though I usually prefer mixed drinks to beer, but I like fruit beers.  If its a mixed I'd have a Margarita (preferably with Grand Marnier in it), or any mixed drink with Baileys (or Bailey's on its own).  I'll drink most any Whiskey (except Bells - I think its vile) plain or with coke / diet coke.  If you like Seagram's Whiskey IMO I find the Co-op's own branded whiskey takes very similar.  If you like Bailey's you may also like Heather Cream.  Its a bit of a slightly more complex taste and it has chocolate undertones - very smooth though!

yummm.. I love Lindemans. I've been the raspberry one in Waitrose. The bottle looks different than it does in the states. Peche is my favorite though.

Mojitos are my tipple, though I do like the sangria as well. ;)

Strongbow!!  Or, not long ago, I was served a martini that was Ciroc vodka and white grape juice rimmed with sugar with a frozen grape dropped inside.  SO GOOD

This week it's been Jaipur IPA, Pale Rider and Enville Ginger Beer.
I used to be a lager drinker, then moved on to German hellesbiers & kellerbiers, but my new man is teaching me to like real ales.

I tend towards mixed drinks (usually a Margarita) or wine.  I've discovered a sweet, white wine called Petalo.  It's a muscato spumante, and very nice.

If I want a Margarita, I usually pick up a 4-pack of  the premixed Cuervo ones.  I usually keep that 4-pack for at least 2 months, because a little taste of a Margarita is usually all I was after.

I also like Talea (amaretto and cream), Ke Ke Beach (tastes like a Key Lime pie, and great over ice cream) and I'm Bananas Over You.

MMMMMM..... mojitos! I'm trying to grow some mint in my window that might one day be a yummy mojito!  :D

I've never seen the Lindeman's lambic beers here, and there are no Watiroses around, but I did see some sort of Banana Bread Stout at Morrison's that I almost tried the other day out of curiosity, can't remember who produces it, though.

Teletabby - thanks for the suggestions, I will keep my eyes open for Timmerman's or Liefman's and if I ever make it to Sheffield, you better meet me at the Devonshire Cat fer a pint!  :P

YES, YES, YES! and another big emphatic YES! Beer is great!

How I miss a good ol' English pub ...   :( I especially like local ales in beautiful countryside locations. If you're ever in Oxfordshire, go to The Falkland Arms in Great Tew and try anything on tap.
