Smith-icks.

Generally, a 'w' in the middle of a word should be ignored, unless it is part of a discernable other word such as 'wood' (as in 'Wytchwood', another fantastic ale).

Aha!  Like Keswick, or Warwick. :)

I'm constantly mocked by British friends for my mis-pronouciation of place names (you should have heard my friend Rob the first time he heard me say Holborn!).  Where I come from, we don't exactly leave out letters...we're more likely to add extra ones in!  ("warsh," instead of "wash," for example)

Teletabby - thanks for the suggestions, I will keep my eyes open for Timmerman's or Liefman's and if I ever make it to Sheffield, you better meet me at the Devonshire Cat fer a pint!  :P

Oooh definitely!  You're always welcome to come along to one of the Yorkshire meetups - even though you're not living in Yorkshire.   ;)

Jewlz, where do you live?  I'll see if I can investigate where to get the beer you desire.

And I have just found Lindeman's Frambois in Waitrose...

Real ale. Bradfield brewery (near Sheffield), Kelham Island, Thornbridge (Jaipur IPA), Wentworth and Acorn breweries.

I was on the Jaipur the other night... was alternating with Pale Rider.  Imagine a pub having both of those on at the same time!   How does someone choose?!?!  ;)

I am a cider drinker
I drinks it all of the day
I am a cider drinker
It soothes all me troubles away
Oh arr oh arr aay
Oh arr oh arr aay.
(Come on, get a couple of pints down 'ere then!)

And wine, but NOT beer.  [smiley=bleck.gif]
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Red red wine for me, the darker and heavier the better. For spirits, rum of any colour.  I'll drink pretty much anything going except Beer or Whisky

They do what you did and alternate! - had those 2 and more in the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield when we had the meet up!

There's a small Waitrose in Eldon Gardens (or Eldon Square - that complex, anyway) in Newcastle City Centre - worth a trip in to pick some up, if they have it, or perhaps you could order online for delivery?

Where?  Where is this Mecca of real Ale? (hmm, that doesn't seem appropriate  :-\\\\)

I am off to my local, which currently has the rather delish Morrisey/Fox on cask, and Meantime on tap.

Jewlz...PM me the area you live and I *will* find you good beer.  It will be my mission in life! If Newcastle, it should be easy!

Because I am actually a 15-year-old girl...coconut rum and fruit juice. ;D  I prefer Parrot Bay and pineapple or OJ, but here you can only get Malibu. :P  I'm allergic to coconut but love the taste, and coconut rum uses fake coconut flavouring!

I totally thought of you & this post today Meg!  DH & I went to a coffe & tea tasting event in London today with Olly Smith from Saturday Kitchen and he admitted to loving Malibu & pineapple when he was younger.   ;D
