Good lord no! Mickey Rourke was lined up to win that... I think he shot himself in the foot by all his previous wins with too much unpredictability on the language front...

Ah, okay.  The only person I know who has seen both films is Dan, and he got out of The Wrestler saying that, brilliant film though it is, Penn still deserved to win.  I wish I'd put money on it

Anyone know if they're re-airing the red carpet at any point, or if I can see it online?  I know I can find stills, but I like the "pre-show."

Damn you, Hulu!  The only thing I've ever been able to get on Hulu was Dr Horrible, as it was available internationally.  (And now I've got Zack's song from the commentary stuck in my head. )

I'm dying to see MILK as I can remember his death so vividly in the bay area... but it ain't coming to my town 

I missed the whole thing!! But from your descriptions, it doesn't sound as if I missed much. I prefer a funnier awards too. I'm sure I'll be watching E! for the fashion shows, but that's about it.
