Waking Ned Devine is one of my favorites! It gets dusted off and watched at least once a month at my house. :)

That was filmed here on the IOM!!! The white pony in one of the scenes was my step daughters pony....Maisie...I think they call it a donkey in the scene..it is a belter of a movie!

Apparantly there have been a few movies which are supposed to be set in Ireland which have been filmed (at least in part) on the Isle of Man, because parts of it look like Ireland of a few decades ago.

Another Irish film I love which was filmed on the Isle of Man is The Boys and Girl of County Clare.  Not an excellent movie, but a good one, and there is loads of traditional music in it!

Oh yes we have had LOADS of them filmed here...one reason the IOM Government give them a HUGE tax break!

Still waiting for the one I was in to get a release date...........

We have some friends in the County Clare movie....

Layer Cake

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrells

Human Traffic

Snatch

Crank

Notting Hill

Love Actually

About a Boy

Oh my god, I hate every one of those films!  :P

Chariots of Fire is one of my alltime favourites.

Ditto Shakespeare in Love.

I thought Calendar Girls was pretty charming. Maybe not one of the best British films ever, but probably worth putting on your LoveFilm list.
If we called them Sad Meals, no one would buy them.

Here are some of my personal favourite British Films.  They are all older, from at least 15 years ago, but I think they are glorious movies:

Hope and Glory

I just happened to watch Hope and Glory this afternoon! It was really very good, I thought.

It's not new, but If.... is one of my all-time favorites.  Weird, yes, but so, so good!

This is one of my happy movies.  I watch it when I'm feeling a bit down.  Highly recommended.

Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

I haven't seen it since it was in theaters years ago, but I remember liking Morvern Callar. Interesting story, at any rate. Definitely not light fare, though.

I'll second Love Actually, Notting Hill, About a Boy, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Calendar Girls, and Waking Ned Devine, though. :)
