most of the men in the restaurant had BC's on. Do they do that in the UK?

My fiance wouldn't wear one in a restaurant, no. That's not very good manners. But he wears one whenever he's outside - in the winter to keep out the cold, and in the summer to stop his head from burning (he's not got a lot of hair!).

My (increasingly bald) dad does this too..baseball cap in the summer to stop getting his head burned, and wooly hat in winter to keep him warm.  But never indoors.

My cousin's boy even had his yearbook photo taken wearing his baseball cap.  He claimed no one would know him without it!
