IRS Form 2555 related again
« on: March 07, 2009, 06:23:59 AM »
I am a US Permanent Resident
Suppose i was earning wages and paying taxes in UK from April 15 2008 to Dec 2008, and in April 2009, i have to file my US taxes.

Since i have foreign income, do i automatically use form 2555 or i don't qualify since i am less than 330 days in UK.

If i am NOT eligible to file 2555. Then how does one account for Foreign Income on which taxes in US 1040 have been paid?

Thanks.

Time qualifying is a must.  If you don't time qualify, you can't use 2555.  In that case, you use 1116 and take foreign tax credits.
