DS has finally seen a doctor who will take his insurance. Has been put on Paxil and Ativan and referred to a shrink. Well, its the right thing -- but he just got off Effexor a year and a half ago.  :(
Poor guy, hope he feels better soon

Let's see.  Last week we had to put one of our darling cats down.  He's had leukaemia for 5 years and after a rather sudden drop, we rushed him to the vet who said he was in liver failure and had a spleen full of tumors.  He said it was time and we were with him when he passed.  It's been awful.  Gut wrenching.  Floods of tears. Depression settling in again after having kicked it last fall.  :\\\'(

Today, I had an appt for my annual and I completely freaked out.  Major anxiety attack at the idea of going, being weighed (ugh) and chastised for not losing any weight and then being splayed on the table.  I just couldn't do it so I rescheduled my appointment.  My last appt with my NP ended with an endometrial biopsy without any pain meds so I feel like I have a bit of PTSD now about going back to the doctor.

So yeah. Fun times at our house.

(((hugs Kristi)))

Sorry to hear about your cat - very sad! Maybe you can get someone to go with you to the GP for moral support?

We've been made redundant.  :\\\'( :-[

Jewlz, I am so sorry. I know you guys have been really proactive about this possibility and I am rooting for you. Please, please, please get all the benefit and housing advice available to you. ((Hugs))

Hi Jewlz, I'm sorry to hear you've been made redundant. I know you are probably worried and extremely upset about it all, but it will be okay. We went through this when my husband was made redundant and it felt like the world was ending and we both grew depressed, but it also opened up a new avenue for us both. Hugs to you and your family. :-*

Kristi - I'm so sorry about your cat.

Jewlz - I'm sorry about your jobs, I'm a big believer that everything will work out in the end, somehow. My husband is a benefits guru so if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll get answers for you.

Oh no, Jewlz! That really is awful for you, especially after all you've been through recently.  :-\\\\ :( Hope some jobs turn up soon.

Kristi, so sorry to hear about your cat. I think it's every bit as bad to lose a pet as a human family member. And to make it worse, so many people don't understand how you're feeling.  :(

BostonDiner, I hope all works out for your son and that things improve quickly.

Kristi, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.  It's never easy.  My parents had to put their cat down a couple of years ago the day before my mother's birthday.

Jewlz, I was SO hoping that wouldn't happen to you.  Hopefully, this will end up being a blessing in disguise for you both...sooner rather than later.

sorry about your redundancy Jewlz..

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. Here is a link to a news story on the BBC about it with a video of our friends and colleagues, if anyone is interested. I'm not sure how to inbed it.
