J- You're in my thoughts, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this.

Kristi - Sorry to hear about your kitty, but at least he's not suffering from leukemia anymore.  A long time ago, my dog had to be put down due to a tumor as well... it's not a pleasant experience.  :(

Jewlz - That's terrible.  So sorry that you're going through this.  :(  Hopefully something good will come of it, and you and your husband will find even better jobs in the near future.

*sending good thoughts to all of you*

Does seem to be a lot of bad karma going around.
DS is balking at phoning his shrink referral. I told him his sister would have wanted him to do it and sort himself out. Don't know if it sunk in.  :-\\\\ How do you cope with stubborn depressed 29-year olds?
DH's renal checkup was not brilliant. His numbers were down 3 months ago and if not improved this time they will have to change meds. He's down to 18% kidney function (Says he feels fine though)

Sorry your family isn't doing so hot. Hopefully your son will remember mom knows best, and your DH will take care of himself and start feeling better soon. ((HUGS))

My industry lost a real gent yesterday, we got reports that someone I'd dealt with but didn't really know was killed in a car accident on Friday and his six months pregnant wife was in hospital. So horrible and sad, but today we got hit with all the gory details :(

Was a head on crash, the driver of the other car was on drugs and was trying to take off her jumper whilst the front seat passenger held the wheel. Two passengers of her car were killed as well.

This lovely guy swerved at the last second so his side of the car took the full impact protecting his wife and unborn baby.

Such a bloody waste, some stupid 21 year old girl who shouldn't even be driving, takes her sweater off without thinking and a poor baby will never meet their Dad.

bleh :(

CB, that's awful. I'd heard about the accident via Reddit, and it is just terrible.

A lot of the comments on threads are making me so angry, jokes and people saying how they hope his next game wont be affected.

We put in so much effort to make fun things that people enjoy and all they do is b*tch and complain, too expensive, not what I would have done, want more x, less Y etc. Now they're polluting the threads to say RIP to this poor guy with their distasteful rubbish :(

Terrible. Hope the wife and unborn child will be OK -- but how awful for them.

It might make you feel better to check out the Reddit one, much of it is filled with rage at the people who were driving the other car, admiration of his work, and complete disbelief that anyone, anyone, anyone would drive in such a way as to put someone else in danger.

oh god what a nightmare. It's a total credit to him that he sacrificed himself to save his wife and baby at the last second. What a waste.

(Was the driver at fault killed along with her passengers, or is she facing charges?)

She and the passenger holding the wheels are facing charges, they killed their boyfriends in the back seat of their car as well.

It's absolutely tragic to hear about things like that - such a gaping hole to leave in an entire family that was only just beginning.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

So sorry to hear about that, CB. That's terrible.  :-X It really puts things in perspective. I mean, not having jobs has been awful, but at least DH and I have each other.  :\\\'(
