Thanks, everyone.  Sleep made things a bit less raw.

So sorry, LegsA.  I guess there is no ideal time for these things to happen but what a blow for it to come just after your visit.

My sister in Oregon (who now has my truck) was hit as she was turning left and my 5 yr old niece was in the truck.  Everyone is ok but sister can't feel her left arm and she went to the hospital and they say to wait...She has MS so they don't know if it was the accident or a flare up  :-\\\\

The guy who towed the truck thinks it is a write off which will stink as the balance on the loan is $2200.  So what they give her for an 8 yr old truck will pay the loan and not leave enough to get a good well maintained truck.

She has had to miss work obviously today and for a few days as she is banged up - poor girl but thank goodness by dad is nearby to do the fighting.  The guy took total responsibility and the cops were called but now all we can do is wait and hope it all turns out OK.

Oh, no.  :(

Sorry to hear about your sister, but glad to hear that there weren't any more serious injuries or deaths.
