*Hugs*, pb - keep us posted.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering

That's how the light gets in...

I think so...

They will probably want to see where those clots are before attempting any meds. I think cumadin (sp?) is the common blood thinner here. My mother was on it after developing a nasty clot as a result of a sprained ankle.

Hugs, PB!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Thanks all for the well wishes.

Just got off skype with my parents- and my mom is OK- all checked out OK- and they're not sure what's up with her- but after she described her symptoms to me and not just hearsay but actually from her mouth- and it actually all seems really familiar to me- I ended up in hospital for a week a year and a half ago for the same thing- sharp shooting pains that kicks at you and knocks you down from all angles, a very, very, very painful swollen rib cage, breathing problems, dizziness, etc - so we were now joking that I inherited my autoimmune connective tissue disease from my mom, only she got it after me! (She wasn't diagnosed with what I have, it's just familiar symptoms. Mine was only recently diagnosed a few months ago after other symptoms started popping up)

So she's got a follow up appointment with her GP in a few days and she'll go back to the ER if she gets worse.  I'm glad nothing serious is popping up at least- and she's gonna take some time off from work and de-stress.

Thanks everyone for letting me post my worries and sending the good vibes  :)

Glad to hear your mom's doing OK! I hope no more symptoms show up and she recovers fully soon.

(My mom and I joke that she "inherited" her torn ACL from me...she tore hers about 10 years after I did mine, but we had our surgeries 2 weeks apart.)

I post this in this thread because its really awful. I am horrified of the thought.

My younger sister was friends with this lady, call her K, when they were in school together-and they're still aquaintances.  K is also the daughter of one my dad's friends. So I know her.

Now this guy, call him JL, who I went to school for many years with and graduated high school with but he wasn't a friend- but living in a small town, you knew everyone-  was dating K.

K has a 3 year old daughter from a previous relationship.

JL, was watching K's daughter when she was at work and was just arressted- he allegedly gave the 3 year old girl a shot of herion, because he thought might make her feel better, as she had apparently been ill.  He was high himself at the time.

Thankfully, the girl made a recovery and is in state care now, but this is just horrifying. The poor child. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

I sure hope he gets what's due. Sounds like he's admitted it all as well.
I know both these people so it just turns my stomach.  I hope the wee girl is OK and doesn't suffer any long term effects from this.   :-\\\\
