Thanks for asking, pengi. FIL is still in hospital with pneumonia, and now they have also realised that he had a slight stroke at some point. He is having trouble grasping things with his left hand. They have moved him to an aftercare ward for patients suffering from strokes, but he is very lucid compared to some of the other patients there and has been complaining about the smells on the ward since some of them can't control their bodily functions.

He is hardly eating as it is and says he won't eat at all if they don't move him because the smell is making him feel sick. So, MIL is trying to get him moved to another hospital where he would get better care and a private room (she is telling the NHS that the stress of being on that ward is not going to help him recover). But, the road conditions are horrible and it's snowing again, so I don't know if they will move him or not. Plus, no one has been able to visit him so far this week because they haven't even gritted the main roads.
