My mom's kidneys have officially failed.  She's been put on the transplant list and needs dialysis.  :\\\'( I can't give her a kidney because we don't have the same blood type.   >:( :( :\\\'(

I am so very sorry to hear this.  (((Hugs))) and good thoughts to your mom.

So sorry to hear this, Sarah. DH is now on the transplant list and is nudging closer and closer to dialysis. I've heard of people doing kidney swaps (incompatible family members of one patient donating to someone else whose family is a fit for them and so on) but that would be very tricky when you're dealing with two countries.

So sorry to hear that, Sarah... :( I hope she's not waiting too long for a donor. Lots of hugs to both you and your mom.

Really sorry to hear about your mom, Sarah. I hope a donor surfaces quickly!

Thanks for asking, pengi. FIL is still in hospital with pneumonia, and now they have also realised that he had a slight stroke at some point. He is having trouble grasping things with his left hand. They have moved him to an aftercare ward for patients suffering from strokes, but he is very lucid compared to some of the other patients there and has been complaining about the smells on the ward since some of them can't control their bodily functions.  :-X He is hardly eating as it is and says he won't eat at all if they don't move him because the smell is making him feel sick. So, MIL is trying to get him moved to another hospital where he would get better care and a private room (she is telling the NHS that the stress of being on that ward is not going to help him recover). But, the road conditions are horrible and it's snowing again, so I don't know if they will move him or not. Plus, no one has been able to visit him so far this week because they haven't even gritted the main roads.  :-\\\\

Oh no Jewlz!  I can't blame him for not being able to eat, but I hope your FIL is able to get out of there soon. :(
