That's so scary about your great aunt, Jewlz. Poor lady -- hope they can do something for her. Hugs to her and also you and Grandma.

Awww, you guys are going to get the water works going again! Thank you so much for all the support.  :-* I cried my eyes out yesterday at work. I still haven't heard anything from my grandma and don't have the number where she is staying (she didn't have the number with her when I spoke to her, but said she would call my mom's house and pass on a message and her number).

The good news is that DH told me last night that I'm going to America by myself for two weeks to see my family and friends whenever I want to go. Only problem is I can't take two weeks off to go until next year, as I can't really go this summer since we have already made plans for another holiday and to have DSS for two weeks, etc. (It's too hot in summer anyway, I'd hate it!) But it's always possible that my boss may make me a year-round employee this fall (she has talked about it recently), so fingers crossed, as then I could go anytime. Anyway, looking forward to two whole weeks with my grandma and spending lots of QT with the other people I love in my life is giving me some hope.

So sorry about your aunt Jewlz. :-\\\\  Stuff like this just isn't easy at all.  I hope you can manage to get to your Grandma soon.

I still haven't heard anything about my aunt and have no way to contact my grandma to find out what is happening. My aunt could be gone now, for all I know.  :-X

And this morning, DH was made redundant AGAIN. That's three times in 9 months. Un-freakin'-believable.  :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'(

The only somewhat good (though still sad) news is that I thought I'd have to cancel our trip to Italy this summer and lose our deposit, but the Thomson people said we had until 3 June to make a decision and if we can't afford to go this year, we could transfer the deposit to a holiday for 2012 in order to not lost the £350 we paid (we'd have to pay a £70 admin fee, but at least the money we already paid would still be going toward a holiday, even if it does end up being next summer instead of this one.) Still, I'm so sad that all the things we've been looking forward to have slipped away from us yet again.  :\\\'(
