I cried my eyes out yesterday at work. I still haven't heard anything from my grandma and don't have the number where she is staying (she didn't have the number with her when I spoke to her, but said she would call my mom's house and pass on a message and her number).
The good news is that DH told me last night that I'm going to America by myself for two weeks to see my family and friends whenever I want to go. Only problem is I can't take two weeks off to go until next year, as I can't really go this summer since we have already made plans for another holiday and to have DSS for two weeks, etc. (It's too hot in summer anyway, I'd hate it!) But it's always possible that my boss may make me a year-round employee this fall (she has talked about it recently), so fingers crossed, as then I could go anytime. Anyway, looking forward to two whole weeks with my grandma and spending lots of QT with the other people I love in my life is giving me some hope.
