Thanks guys.  Just found out he had a blot clot on/in his lung, so they're going to keep him in the hospital and take care of it.  Phew.  The whole sequence of events leading up to this happened just so that if any of it had gone differently, he might not be with us.  :-\\\\  Just thankful he's being taken care of.
Yes! Thank goodness.

My grandfather is in the hospital and my mother and aunts/uncle are having a meeting today to decide about some difficult choices regarding his care. He needs a bronchoscopy but he might end up on a ventilator which goes against the 'no extreme measures' decision that had already been made. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Such sad news.  :(
Big hugs to both of you.

I'm so sorry for both of you.

A bit of good news - my pregnant friend with the brainstem tumour made it through the surgery very well, was discharged from hospital really early (apparently she was sitting up and knitting the day after surgery!) and she and the baby are both well. The biopsy came back that the tumour was mixed cancer and cyst, and the cancerous cells were the lowest stage possible to still be considered cancerous. So it's all v v good that she accidentally (and against all odds) got pregnant or she'd never have had any symptoms until it was all too late...
