Thank goodness, SP!

My neighbour had adopted a little 3-legged cat a while back and yesterday it was hit by a car and had to be put down as the remaining hind leg was broken in 3 places. Poor Nancy is devastated and blaming herself for ever having let the cat go outside. Losing a pet is every bit as heart wrenching as losing a friend or even family member  :\\\'(
RIP Babs.

So sorry, BD. Good news SP!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. In the end it was decided my grandfather would not have the bronchoscopy. Too much risk for too little reward. He's doing a bit better but still has a lot of pneumonia so they will continue to treat him for that. But the chances of him having lung cancer again are pretty high so now it's probably just a wait and see what happens situation.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

We went over to the nursing home today to visit BF's dad, and picked up his mom on the way. When we got to the home, she said she wasn't feeling well, so she stayed in the car for a bit. The minute she got inside, she had a fainting spell/convulsion, and continued to have problems the rest of the hour we were there. We took her to a walk-in clinic who have since sent her off to the main hospital in an ambulance.

I'm at BF's brother's house now (BF went in the ambulance), waiting for updates. :( I'm hoping it's nothing too serious, but it definitely seems worrying, and I feel bad that BF is there on his own. (I didn't really want to ride in the ambulance as well, since I'm not family/not sure how comfortable BF's mom would be with everything - I know when I'm feeling gross, I want as few people/strangers around to see me feeling/looking gross.)

On the plus side(s), at least BF's cold seems over, so he's able to help out/be involved with all this, rather than curled up in bed. And at least he's here, I imagine he'd be pretty worried hearing about all of this second-hand from London.

Thanks, me too. She got discharged this morning and will have more tests via her GP, so we'll see.

My friend tried to kill herself yesterday. I was talking to her online at the time, and she took 60 of her mother's pills... EN kindly called 999 for me while I tried to find her contact information, and then I just got over there as quick as I could. DH was getting home as I got to the station, so he picked me up and we went together. I called her mum, who wasn't home, and we all arrived at the same time. She was already in the ambulance parked outside. She was a mess....

The pills she took affect the rhythm of the heart, so they said she could go into cardiac arrest at any time in the next 12 hours, and because of the pills, they wouldn't be able to do a whole lot. The doctor actually said "It's down to the grace of god."

She was more alert and herself when we left, at around 1am. And her mum hasn't heard anything else, so I'm assuming that is good news, as the 12 hour window is over now... I'm waiting for a phone call.  :\\\'(

Oh my God! What a terrible experience for all involved :(
Hope you're okay today and your friend pulls through as well.
