Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. His girlfriend just texted that it was on BBC1, and they were talking about dangers in the area, so now she is even MORE freaked out. I just feel completely useless and I wish there was something remotely helpful I could do...

I am unbelievably relieved. I kept refreshing the news story every 2 minutes, and it said found I felt like I was going to cry. I called DH and told him, and finally got ahold of his girlfriend who had gotten the phone call and phoned FIL. She said that she burst into tears when they told her, and when that was over her next response was "I'm gonna kill him..." :)

Oh, lovely news! (I did enjoy that he showed up in front of the BBC team--I imagine they were quite easy to spot!) So pleased everything has turned out okay.

Woke up to an emergency call at 6am this morning. One of my dearest friends in the world was killed in a car accident last night! He and his wife were driving from Idaho to Utah to visit family and there was a fire which caused some road issues...Long story short, he saved his wife by swerving the car to hit a semi-truck on his side which sounds like pretty much killed him instantly (nice to hear he didn't suffer).

I'm just incredible sad today. So many good memories with the guy...He even had to "give me his blessing" to marry my husband! LOL! He was just a really fantastic person and it does hurt to know I won't be able to go to his funeral or anything. It will probably hit me again when I go back to visit and try to call him up to go watch a game of hockey followed by Wings and Beer...RIP old friend! You will be missed!
