I'm so sorry Amberelle. It's even worse when you are so far away. :(

I'm so sorry Amberelle. It's even worse when you are so far away. :(

I think this is the worse part of it all! Your so far away and can't do anything! I'm gutted that I can't go to his funeral! I can't afford to go and even if I could, I would still need to reserve that time for my mom in case her cancer gets worse.  :P

I wonder if it would be disrespectful to ask a friend to film the service then email it to me? Or maybe it's just that I take a quiet time of my own here? I did ask my husband if we could have wings, ribs and beer this weekend to kind of commemorate. Our big favorite thing to do together used to be to go to an Ice Hockey game or a baseball game, etc. then go out to get ribs, wings and beer to celebrate...Or sushi lunches! We did a lot getting "working sushi lunches" together too! I think my husband agreed to both this weekend! So that's nice! But my Step-Daughters are down for the weekend too on Saturday, so we are trying to work it around them.

Thanks for all the support! You have no idea how much it helps!

Amberelle, I think both of those things- sushi /ribs-wings-beer are great ways to remember someone.  (((Hugs)))

J's office was broken into during the night - all the personal stuff rifled through and the safe broken into and all the money stolen.  It's an office of 2 people, his employer and himself - so he's quite shaken up.

Amberelle- so sorry for your loss. I think the wings/beer/sushi idea is a perfect way to celebrate his life. :)  [smiley=hug.gif]

PB- Yikes! I hope insurance covers all the losses. It certainly does shake your sense of security to go through a break in, though. :/

Amberelle, I'm so sorry for your loss.  :(

PB, how scary for J!  I'm off to post a similar story on IA/UP, but not as traumatic as J's.

I'm sorry for your loss, Amberelle.  I hope you find the most fitting way to commemorate.  It sounds like you have some good ideas.

Phatbeetle, I'm sorry to hear about the break-in.  That's always disturbing as well as infuriating.
