How awful PB! I would be furious, too! I hope they catch them.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Amberelle, and of all the violence being perpetrated on others' property.

My concern is for my aunt who is a sprightly 86-year-old but has developed severe problems with her knees which will both have to be replaced. On top of that she just lost her oldest and dearest friend fairly suddenly and yesterday was her late husband's birthday with the anniversary of his death coming up. September is always hard for her but she's feeling even more down this year. Growing old is truly not for sissies.  :(

My 28 year old cousin has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, invasive ductal carcinoma. She has 3 young kids - 6 years old, 4 years old and 2 years old. She doesn't even have any health insurance. She starts chemo on Monday for 4 months to try to shrink the tumour, then they will try to  remove it. It hasn't spread anywhere else yet, thankfully. Our family found out she had leukaemia on her third birthday and she beat that after years of painful treatment. So this isn't her first rodeo with cancer, I am sure she will beat it again, she is such a fighter. At least I will get to see her while I'm in the US next week.

I know PA had a special plan to help cover all women who were diagnosed and didn't have insurance even if they didn't qualify for other low income insurance plans.

She might not be able to look into it, but maybe someone else in the family can?

My heart goes out to your cousin, Jewlz. E. was only 27 when diagnosed. I think the medical people will do their damnedest to do what they can for young women especially. Hope she's able to beat this.

One of the security guys killed in Libya came from my home town. He graduated high school about 10 years ahead of DS, so we didn't know the family. But I feel so sorry for them -- and also the families of the others killed.  :\\\'(

Add me to the pile of those with ill loved ones.  My dad's got a mass on his abdomen.  Not sure if it cancer or not yet...  :(

Thanks pb and BostonDiner.  I got it wrong, it's a mass in his lung even though the symptoms he was having were nausea and fever, which could just be flu.  They're going to start tests immediately to see what's going on.
