Oh Jewlz, I'm so sorry to hear about A's (and your) friend & his kids. I hope they pull through.  :\\\'(

Sorry to hear about your dad, Andee. I hope he will be ok. I will keep him in my thoughts.

Thanks Jewlz.  My heart goes out to your friend and his kids.  Sending good vibes to them, hoping they all pull through.

Got an email from my dad today after he received his first radiation treatment.  The heading of the email was 'I'm still here'; so glad he's keeping his sense of humor.

My cousin found out she is in Stage 3 out of 4 stages of breast cancer. They are going to do a heart test to ensure she will be able to handle treatment. it is contained in one breast and one lymph node at the moment. Hoping her treatment begins quickly and will go well. No news yet on DH's friend or his kids.

A couple of things making me cry today. It would have been my dad's 64th birthday today; he died nearly 7 years ago and it still feels like yesterday. When that wasn't threatening to make me cry at work, the news that a friend of mine had a stillbirth at 35 weeks was there to make sure I did. Absolutely devastating. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is my birthday and I just hope I can cheer up a bit from those sad things :(

Drsuperl99, sorry you're having a rough day! How wonderful that you had such a close relationship with your dad that you still feel so much emotion. It's a testament to what a wonderful daughter you are and I'm sure you're dad is so proud of you.  Your friend is also very lucky to have a friend who cares so much about her too.  Your birthday is for you, so focus on being good to you for a change and make it a great day! Happy Birthday!

Thank you!  :-* I did have a lovely, relaxing birthday. Today is the baby's funeral, so it is definitely going to be a sad afternoon.

I'm glad you had a good birthday, but I'm sorry you're going to have a sad afternoon. Hopefully, things will be better tomorrow.

Just found out that my Florida grandfather is imminently going to die, from complications from a round of chemo he had earlier this week. He's 80 and hasn't been in good health for years and we're not very close (his poor health has made it difficult to communicate with him at times) but my mom is a mess and he's the first grandparent for me to die. I know that I'm incredibly lucky to have 4 living grandparents at age 28 and I'm sad that won't be true any longer.
