Sorry not to add another depressing one after BD, but similarly my mom lost her battle with ovarian cancer yesterday morning.  She fought hard for just over 3.5 years.

Still finalising details about when to fly, but it's been so hard being over here.

Big hugs, Aless. My heart goes out to you. xxx

Hugs, Aless. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Thanks, all, you're really sweet.  In case you're all wondering why I'm still hanging around, it's because the memorial service won't be for another two weeks so I won't go out until next weekend so I can spend a little time with my dad afterwards.  Really, I feel the worst for him because he had to witness her degeneration, whereas I (selfishly) stayed away through the worst of it.

But your words are kind.  Until about a month ago, I never believed it would beat her.

My best friend (basically my sister since age 5) is completely depressed and unhappy with her life. To the point where she has decided to call off her wedding (which was supposed to be in October) with the man she's been with nearly 7 years, and is starting to see a therapist tomorrow...

I'm really worried about her and I can't do anything. Her fiance sent me a message, and he even seems more worried about her than upset about the wedding... I don't know what to do from here.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

My father-in-law died today. It wasn't a surprise, but it was still heartwrenchingly sad.
