:( I'm so scared. I have some feeling in my hands, but very weak...

Scary! Don't walk back down to the doctor. Get a ride or take a taxi, even if its a short walk.  If it gets worse, don't wait for your appointment, get the to A&E

It's literally across the street. I would have to walk farther to get to where my husband usually parks the car! But thanks hun.

My appointment was nearly an hour late. They were very busy... But here's the update:

I was given a neurological examination, and the doctor said he found nothing sinister... However he is going to get back to me after speaking with a neurologist, to decide whether or not I need an MRI. If I get significantly worse suddenly, I'm supposed to go to the emergency room.

This happened to me last summer when I was still in the US. My feet went numb for 3 months... I got an EMG and lots of blood tests, which was all normal. But after that I couldn't afford anymore tests, so there was never an answer. I went off my birth control and it went away, so I assumed that was it... But why do I have numbness again now? Maybe it was something else. I just hate not knowing...

Hugs! Hang in there. Another good reasons for the NHS, no need to forgo medical treatment because you can't afford it.  Keep us posted and I hope you feel better.

Yeah, that's what I was just saying to my husband... I'm very grateful for the NHS.

And for my husband, who showed up at the doctors all concerned. Having him there definitely put me more at ease...

I hope you don't need to go to A&E! But I also hope that this time they can get to the bottom of it and figure out what's wrong with you.

Hang on in there PL, I hope they find out what the cause is, or conclude that it's nothing.
I'm in a similar situation at the moment, I had a routine ECG some weeks ago as part of something else, get a very panicked call from my dr on Friday morning saying "come see me today, don't panic" so I started freaking out and had to race to London from Liverpool.

Was sent to the cardiologist first thing Monday morning for a barrage of exhausting tests after a very worrying weekend and yeah, there's something up with my heart.
Had to wear a very uncomfortable heart monitor for 24 hours and I'm now waiting around for an appointment to have my heart MRI and to see what my heart did over 24 hours.

The thing is, I can feel the heart beats, and I know they're weird, I get like double beats then it misses a beat then really thunders in my chest, lying in certain positions exasberates it etc.

I'm pretty scared right now, I know that it's probably, hopefully nothing, but I'm concerned, I didn't expect heart problems at 25.
I've come to work today but they're sending me home at the end of the day, (we normally finish around 11pm) to have a few days off whilst I wait for results.
I hate being off work as I love my job and we're at a critical point in our development.

Just popping in to give some hugs to everyone with all these medical worries!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Oh no!!!! I am sorry to hear that. I hope they can work out what's happening and get you some treatment. That does sound scary.

For myself, it's minor compared to what everyone else is dealing with healthwise, but I have been having loads of problems with my stomach for the last several weeks and my doctor thinks I might have gall stones. I am having an ultrasound in a few weeks to see what's wrong. Meanwhile, I'm just bloated, suffering horribly painful spasms and cramps, tired and run-down, and just feeling like utter crap every single day.  :-X :-\\\\
