princesslemons, I had to make a separate appointment for a blood draw at my GP, but they were able to fit me in the same day as my GP appointment.  That's not always necessarily the case, though- the second time I had blood drawn, I had to wait a few days.

Good to know. I was hoping I could do it the same day, but as busy as they typically are here, I am doubting that will happen. If not, I'll just go into work. They crossed me off for the schedule for tomorrow, but told me to just show up if I feel up to it.

Saturday is my birthday... The first birthday I will get to spend with Vincent out of all 7 since we got together. He has things planned and it was going to be the perfect day... But now I don't know.  :-\\\\

Thanks for the wellwishes, everybody. It's really not all THAT bad, I mean, at my worst I just feel like laying in bed and watching tv all day and having the hickman line from the transplant means I don't have to get stuck with needles anymore (thank god since my veins are rubbish after 10 months of transfusions!). Today I felt a bit better than yesterday, anyway. We'll just see if I stay cool overnight...

Princesslemons, at my GP they only take blood once a week but we have the option to go to the local hospital and get it done that same day instead. They'll tell you results will take a week to come through, but believe me - if there's something REALLY wrong with your results, they'll let you know a whole lot sooner. Even if it is a hysterically overblown and fear-inducing call on your mobile like mine was, boo.

I just got back from seeing my GP again. He recommended general blood tests, and the B12 test as per my request...

There is no appointment necessary, I can just show up with my paperwork. However he said they are "fasting blood tests." So the day before I can't have anything but water after my evening meal and then only water until my test the next day. I could have done that today, but I had coffee before my appointment. :( Dumb. So now I have to miss work tomorrow, or go on Monday. I might do it tomorrow because I just don't want to wait...

I've always understood that it's OK to have a little coffee before fasting blood tests.  And nothing after midnight vs. the evening meal.

...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...

Oh, that's what my husband was just saying! I'm quite hungry right now, as I've just gotten home for work, and he told me a bit of toast wouldn't hurt... I did get a wrap on my lunch break at 5pm, but I'm hungry again.

A mutual "friend" gave my BFF's phone number, address and email to her abusive ex because she decided that "the two of them were meant to be" and "he just wanted to talk," and "he sounded really sorry."

BFF just called me nearly hysterical because she thought she was well done with that guy and he apparently has already called her 7 times today.

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Lovely...what a nice friend! Did she just not stop and ENGAGE THE BRAIN for 1 millisecond?!!!?

I hope your BFF can get a restraining order ASAP, change her number & block him off her email.

This person would no longer be my friend.

I'd get an injunction on her, too.

Just found out my Grandmother is either having a mini stroke or a severe panic attack. We're waiting for an update... :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
