Go ahead and list everything, Jewlz! And good luck.  :)

My "Worse than..." is that our Almost Son-in-law not only lost the love of his life last summer but is now facing redundancy. And he's in his 40's so it's not going to be easy to find something new. His university is offering him a half-time post but how can he live on that?

I'm so sorry to hear that. That's horrible news.  :\\\'( I hope he can find something else, I wouldn't think being in his 40's would necessarily make it that much harder - many companies look for people with more maturity and experience, plus 40 is considered much younger now than it used to be! Good luck to him.

My husband woke up at 2 am with chest/abdominal pain, was up all night & then tried to go to work this morning. They sent him home and he went into the walk in centre and they had him hooked up to a heart monitor for an hour and told him to see his GP. No pain meds or anything or idea about what is wrong with him.

The earliest appointment with the GP I could get was 5.40pm. Poor man has finally fallen asleep due to exhaustion...I'm scared sh£tless because we don't know what's wrong with him.

*hugs*

Best wishes for you and your husband Weby; hoping that you'll have an answer as soon as possible, and that it'll be nothing serious!

Oh no, D! Hope they figure out what's going very soon. I wonder if it couldn't be appendix related or an ulcer or something? It seems sometimes when you have abdominal pain, it can radiate to your chest. Hope he feels better soon.  :-\\\\

Sending good vibes to your husband, Weby. My fiance gets severe abdominal pain in seemingly random episodes that's never, ever been diagnosed, and I just feel awful when he's wincing and white with pain and there's nothing you can do... :(

Thanks everyone...I think it's stressing more than it would because not only has he been up since 2am so have I...thankfully I got a 30 minute nap when the munchkin napped earlier and he's resting now. I just want to know what's wrong with him and how to make him better. Things like this scare me do death. His father died of heart disease, DH smokes (not as much as he used to but he still smokes) and so it's my biggest fear (that & cancer).

WebyJ, well wishes coming your way.  I do hope they find out what's wrong and that it's definitely not the big C and such.  Hugs to you and all my best thoughts to you on this.

How worrying! Thinking of you WebyJ!

My WTAIA is that my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few weeks ago.  He went in for surgery and was initially told that it was contained just in his prostate (which they removed).  However, he just went for a follow-up appointment and learned that they believe it wasn't just in the prostate, so now he has to go for radiation possibly.  We'll get a final word on August 9th when he goes for his consultation for radiation therapy.  I just hope that it works for him and it's not worse than originally thought.

kbeaumont - I hope it all works out. My FIL had the same thing and had the radiation therapy as well and he has been doing great.
