DH's coworker died today from leukemia. She was only 43 years old. It was only 4 weeks from when she was diagnosed and when she died. So sad...

Thanks everyone, I'll pass on your condolences to DH. This woman was actually a dual Irish/US citizen and had lived in Chicago for quite awhile. We used to bond over conversations of big salads and unsweetened iced tea.

She was married and has a large extended family both here and in the US. I can see when faster would be better, but she didn't even have a chance to fight it.

That's true, but she also didn't have as much time to suffer, I suppose. It doesn't really matter how you look at it, though. Cancer is horrible, and it's really sad that your friend died at such a young age. I'm really sorry.
