Fug Madness 2009
« on: March 18, 2009, 12:29:42 PM »
Who else is obsessed with Go Fug Yourself? (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/)

I read it every day and I can't help but admit I am a bit excited about this years Fug Madness. I am thinking SWINTON will win. How could she not? She is fabulously fug.

Me, me, MEEEEEE!  I've already printed out my bracket and am ready for the Fugness!

I'm so torn about SWINTON.  I love her to pieces.  Absolutely adore her and her exquisite fugness that I'm not sure if it's an insult for her to win.  She really needs her own category!

Right now I think I've got Solange in the lead, but it may change as the Madness continues. ;D

But is it really an insult to win Fug Madness? I thought so last year and I have to admit a bit of bitchiness does play a part in my voting but ever since Bai Ling won last year, there's been a sort of grudging respect from the authors that she is so fugalicious. It's almost like the fuglier you are, the more they love you for it. Except those who just annoy them. Then they're just pathetic. Ha ha.

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I tried to explain Fug Madness and the whole Go Fug Yourself thing to my workmates but they don't get it. I wonder if it's because most of the people on it aren't known here.

I suppose it depends on who wins.  I think that's part of what makes Fug Madness so fun.  It's obvious that some people vote for someone because they are horrificially awful (Phoebe Price), where others vote for someone because they are equisitely awful (Bai Ling).  When it comes to SWINTON, though, she is in such a crazy different league than the others, it's almost not fair to compare her to them.  But, as you can tell, I'm hugely biased.

I'm more than happy to dish as the madness unfolds.  None of my friends understand how much I love this.

SOLANGE FOR THE WIN!!!

I am totally obsessed with Go Fug Yourself, but not so much with Fug Madness.  Don't know why!  I am looking forward to who wins the crown, though.  I swear, Bai Ling should be that site's mascot.  Well, her or Bjork.  Or SWINTON.  Oh, there are just so many choices!

Isn't it fabulous??  The worst part for me is waiting for them to start posting every morning!

If you like GFY, you should also check out Project Rungay.  I want TLo to be my gays. ;D

ETA:  Don't let the Project Runway stuff throw you - they've just been filling the void since it hasn't been on this season.  Dig around, and you'll find some great b*tchy stuff.

You were obviously living in a bubble. ;)

I see your point. I almost feel like a win from her would be way too easy.

And do you know, whenever I think of her now, I always think of her as SWINTON. It's like I've forgotten she even has a first name and she doesn't put it all in caps.

Third!  I can't help but think of her as SWINTON now.  Nothing else will do.

All my first round choices are (most likely) going to win!!  Except Speidi.  I simply can't vote for SWINTON. :(

I'll be very surprised if she doesn't win this year.

Wow, I can't believe I never heard of this site before!  I haven't laughed so hard in ages!  Thanks, Ashley!

I know.  And I'm okay with it because, as you said, it's really a kind of sign of respect.
