Another tuna update
« on: March 20, 2009, 09:41:48 AM »
Following the pleasure of the albacore tuna in the blue boxes, I can report that Sainsbury's now has an own brand albacore tuna!!

It's about £1.50 for a regular sized can, and it is just like home.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

That's a good find!
They used to have it in small glass jars for £2.99  :-X

They've carried one kind for a few months -- a brand called premium something that was a tin in a box. I guess they sold enough to venture into an own brand.

It comes in oil or spring water, but I thought the spring water felt a tad bit oily (probably just from the tuna, though). When I opened the can, I was sooooo happy. It looked like I'd opened a can of Bumble Bee solid white!!

I ordered a few cans for my next shop. I hope that finally solves my tuna salad issues.

If you are lucky enough to live near a Costco and have a membership or a freind with one.
They sell Chicken of the Sea Albacore tuna in packs of six... Bitty expensive but ohhhh so worth it to have taste of tuna from back in the states :)

What's the difference between tuna steak and tuna chunks? Can either be used in tuna salad?

Maybe it was a theme? Y'know ... with the yellow roses?  ;)
