Cardamom. And, well, anything anise-flavored.

Me too ;D (Except for the vegetarian bit) I feel lucky ;D

;D

I definitely prefer certain things over others, but there's not been anything posted yet that I would NEVER eat, like 'OMG it's so gross, I won't touch it' sort of thing.

But you can bounce Wonder Bread! If you squish it into a ball, it'll bounce!! How can you not like food that bounces? ;D

Bread balls!! My nieces used to make these! (They were taught by my brother-in-law, hmmm.)

Thanks to you guys, I just thought of some more :P:

I don't like cloves or anything with that type of flavor.
Anything licorice flavored.
I don't like italian sausage. It's the seasoning in it that is just gross.

I know I've much improved over the last 10 years or so regarding likes and dislikes. I used to hate raw broccoli and cauliflower but I like it now. I used to even pick onions out of my food that wasn't cooked 'enough' but I've grown up a bit (according to my mother!).

Raw onions are my one true holdout. I can't say much about offal as I've never had the nerve to try it!

I'll also take the extra bleu cheese and mature cheddar hanging around. The stronger the better!!

Oh, just saw sheate's post. I like licorice sweet, but am not a big fan of it savoury (i.e. fennel or star anise).
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I know some mature men who are exceedingly picky -- such that there are only one or two vegetables that they will condescend to eat. And even more restricted on fruit, like "oooh I wouldn't eat [raspberries - fill in the blank]" "Have you ever tried them?" "No, but I know I don't like that flavour" ???

I "don't like" a few things, but these are the foods I absolutely LOATHE:

1. beetroot (I think it's because it LOOKS like cranberry jelly, but couldn't be further from it. Turns my stomach at the sight & smell)

2. sauerkraut and most cabbage (the only exception being kim chi, because it's so hot you can't tell it's cabbage!)

3. mayonnaise

4. anything strawberry-flavored (I love real strawberries, but the flavoring makes me feel ill)

5. prawns/shrimp, crab, lobster, crawfish (shellfish - which is totally convenient, because my husband is allergic to shellfish. We both love mussels/clams and fish, though)

Like someone above I also can't STAND anything anise flavored. YUCK!

Other dislikes:
whole fish (where you can see the eyes and skin, etc) [smiley=bleck.gif]
beats
cooked carrots
any baked goods with preservatives
broccoli rabe
tomato pasta sauce (too tart!)
tamarind flavored anything
cooked salmon (I don't mind the smoked kind you eat on bagels)
red delicious apples (oxymoron if there ever was one!)
French/Catalina salad dressing
prosciutto (love the taste but can't handle the stringy-ness of it)
quail (tried it in france...very dry and it had some fragments of singed feathers still on it!)

I love white chocolate, baklava and mounds of icing though! Some of you guys really made me hungry with your dislikes! ;)

Do beverages count? 'Cause I can't even get tea or beer close enough to my face to drink them--the smell is so horrifying to me. I also hate sweet licorice, but I'm cool with fennel in small amounts. Oh, and caraway seeds are awful. I also don't really like blueberries, which most people cannot fathom; I'm from Maine, which makes it even worse.

I can't believe how many people don't like white chocolate! Maybe you just haven't had it prepared right? ;)

Me, too. At least the smell. The sight is just unappealing. It's weird, I can't even think about them without feeling a bit ill. When I was a little kid, I made the cranberry sauce/beet mistake.

My husband hates most vegetables because he says they taste bitter. A lot of things, including caramel tastes bitter to him. Turns out, he's probably a "super taster".

I had parents that made me eat everything on my plate or go to bed without dinner, so there aren't many things I don't like. They're limited to:

1. Green peppers (wish I did, they smell lovely and fresh and are in EVERYTHING)
2. Raw mushrooms (adore them sauteed)
3. Olives, black or green
4. Anything flavored with aniseed (bad experience involving stomach upset means if I even smell it my stomach starts churning. Ross is the same way with chestnuts).
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

The glass would be cloudy milk-water and he would drink it. I couldn't even be in the same room when he did that. Yeeecccchhhhh! :P

EUGH! My husband does this, and it grosses me out so much!! I'm like...rinse your glass out first please!!

My hates:

1. ONIONS - I detest them. Sadly, DH loves them. He has to decon before I will go near him after he binges on onions.

2. Steamed broccoli - ugh. My roommate in undergrad used to steam huge piles of Broccoli in the microwave and when she opened the door the steam would go everywhere and it would smell like disgusting broccoli for daaaays. UGH. Needless to say, she wasn't my favorite roommate.

3. Thick noodles - like Udon noodles. ick.

4. Someone else mentioned tuna steak, I also don't like that. although I like tuna salad.

Yes, even the thought makes my stomach turn. I can't REMEMBER making a cranberry sauce/beet mistake, but I must've when I was quite young to give me such a fear of them :P.
